A couple of thoughts...
While they'd really rather not take bin Laden prisoner, they wouldn't mind a body. Same with Hayman al-Zwahiri (sp?).
Second, i think we want to have a look-see into some of those caves, and see what they've got stashed there. Do they have WMDs? What kind?
It would give us a better idea of what we might be dealing with here on the home front.
Well, for one thing we don't have any napalm left in the arsenal. It's all been destroyed. FAE's, fuel air explosives are still available, but they are a different weapon. I would think that there are quite a few caves in Afghanistan where these SOB's could be hiding. It will take time and people on the ground to find him. Just be patient, they'll get him and his cronies.
The soviets tried that for ten years, with a notable lack of success.
The reason we are even in afganistan is two fold, 1 because that's where hasbin and his gang of thugs are.2 to get a stable government there, so it will be easier to get bin laden.
As to weather a stable government can be formed there I have my doubts it seem that Afganistan is not so much a country as it's a collection of tribes that don't like each other and want nothing more than to kill each other.
As to weather we'll get hasbin I have NO doubts, maybe not today or tomorrow, but soon. He may not realize it but he's already dead. And that will end step one of this war.
