Surrounded by a bipartisan group of Senators in the White House East Room, President Bush signed into law USA Patriot Act of 2001. "This legislation is essential not only to pursuing and punishing terrorists, but also preventing more atrocities in the hands of the evil ones. This government will enforce this law with all the urgency of a nation at war," the President stated.
In remarks to trade and agriculture advisors, the President also encouraged focus on the economy and urged action on an energy policy. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I am under the impression that the pens go to those involved in creating the legislation, or those who would be significantly impacted by it. (Oh, and probably to the historical archives, for President Bush' administration, also.) He uses a lot of pens.

Well, the only good thing I can say is that when the picture comes out in the press and the future history books, Leahy's face won't be visible! Serves him right! Ha!

If I remember right, that's the part in the speech when he gestured as if planting a flag pole and spoke of planting the flag of freedom. It was one of the strongest parts of the speech.

"Why does he have to act like such a doofus?!?"
Oh, that's an easy question to answer.
Because he is one

Rest assured, no one will be forming a "cult of personality" for you, since you obviously don't have one. And NO ONE will be quoting you, either.

That Leahy is such a geek. Hey Pat, get back to Vermont and watch Star Trek, you dolt! And leave the governing to the grownups. What a weenie.

Did you know I've been saving each and every photo of President Bush to image files?
I've got a lot since I started back in June!
I love to see the President "full of fire" when he's giving a speech.
Photo #3 in post 9: YIKES is right! I'd do backflips to avoid getting this man angry with me!

Oooh, rintense, where did you get those groovy rolling eyes??
They are the perfect response to idiot disruptors!!! Good job!!

Didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all??? Seems to me you have 'issues', otherwise you wouldn't be over here even bothering with our cult. Go somewhere else and play. You are not needed on a thread that celebrates our President.

I want those, too! It saves SO much time!!! Ha!

Each member of Congress standing there with him get a pen, and then if there are others they are given as gifts! Wouldn't it be great to have one? Wow! But I wouldn't want to stand beside some of those men there to get one! (including Hatch)

"Do these daily threads resemble a "cult of personality"
get a clue, support the President and Commander-in-Chief in a time of war
or keep your anti-American remarks to yourself.
