A Palestinian Information Center: There Is Serious Thinking about Obtaining Biological Weapons

The Palestinian weekly, Al-Manar, published an article signed by "The Palestinian Center for Information Sources-Gaza", which stated that "serious thinking has began a while ago about obtaining biological weapons." Following are excerpts from the article, titled "Will We Reach the Option of Biological Deterrence?":[1]

"Due to the seriously uneven balance of power in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and in light of the escalation of the racist aggression, which elevates to the level of a war declaration, by the Sharon government... the Palestinian side is required to use weapons of deterrence that will even the balance of power, at least on the field."

"While the human-bombs [meaning, suicide bombers] may be followed [and maybe stopped by] preventive measures...serious thinking has begun for a while about developing a Palestinian weapon of deterrence. This weapon terrifies the Israeli security apparatuses, from time to time, mainly because obtaining its primary components, whether biological or chemical, is possible without too much effort, let alone the fact that there are hundreds of experts who are capable of handling them and use them as weapons of deterrence, thus creating a balance of horror in the equation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

"A few bombs or death-carrying devices will be enough, once they are deployed in secluded areas and directed at the Israeli water resources or the Israeli beaches, let alone the markets and the residential centers. [This will be carried out] without explosions, noise, blood, or pictures that are used to serve the Israeli propaganda. Anyone who is capable, with complete self-control, of turning his body into shrapnel and scattered organs, is also capable of carrying a small device that cannot be traced and throw it in the targeted location."

"What we want to say is that the Israeli security apparatuses take into account such dramatic development in the conflict, although they believe the issue is limited to the possibility of smuggling such weapons from abroad..."

"General Mofaz seeks a political future painted with Palestinian blood...without considering the level of casualties and economic damage that will be caused to the Israeli society, if the Palestinian people and its leadership are cornered."

[1] Al-Manar (PA), August 13, 2001.

Note: The Palestinian Center for Information Sources – Gaza was directed by Jihad Al-Wazir, the son of Abu Jihad [former second in command for Yasser Arafat and head of PLO’s military forces]. In the past, the Center received American aid. Once the aid was stopped, the Center was passed to the Palestinian Journalists Association, and it is now managed by Deputy Chairman, Taufiq Abu-Khosa, who also wrote the article.

It is time to utterly destroy those who plot to use weapons of mass destruction against Israel or the United States.

Now

The principle of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) helped keep the peace during the cold war. This superb article exactly pinpoints what is needed for peace in the middle east and what is needed to prevent further reckless military adventures from Israel.

The fact that Israel has nuclear weapons should be offset with acquiring the same nuclear assets for the Palestinian side. ABC (Atomic, Biological, Chemical) weapons are exactly what is needed by Palestine to offset the conventional military superiority of Israel. This would set a balance of power (or terror, if you like) which is the mechanism for peace.

Once Generalissmo Sharon and his successors understand they cannot attack Palestine and occupy its terrority and kill its inhabitants with impunity the sooner it will act rationally and with restraint.

Much is made of terrorist attacks by Palestinians against Israel. But during the Cold War, the US and Nato had many provocations aimed at them from the Soviet side and yet they reacted with restraint because of MAD. They did so because they knew the world could blow up thru miscalculation.

Israel, by contrast, acts like a bull in the china shop at minor provocations, like killing the extremist fanatic Zeeve who the world is better off without. It does so because like any bully they can beat others up and get away from it with the applause from the Israeli-centrics. After 53 years of failure to bring peace, a MAD policy is worth a try.

Naturally, the utmost secrecy is required by Palestine and its Muslim allies until a fait accompli can be sprung on Israel. Israel only understands the language of force and must be brought to heel. Our cities are at risk and we no longer have the luxury of letting the amen corner run our foreign policy. Pakistan can help with the Nuclear end of the triade.

Haven't you forgotten to mention your plans to exterminate the Jews in the rest of the world?

No. An idiot would be an understatement.

Lets not even mention the fact that MAD is based on the rationality of both sides. Lets see, free democracy on one side, brutal dictatorships /islamic fundementalists with a glorification of martydom and sucide bombings on the other. Hmm...

Oh ya, and then again, lets not forget the stated and official goal of the overwhelming majority of the Arab world: kill all the Israels.

Hmmm... wonder where that would lead... I just hope Bob Burnett is in the Palestinian territories when/ and if they do aquire and use WMD. That way he can tell us first hand whether he thinks it was such a good idea, and also, how it feels to have your skin melt off, right before you snap your spine from the spasms.

Not a minor provocation but the killing of a 75 year old man by two or three young Palestinian cowards. The message to your Pallie punks is, you kill Israeli ministers and Israel will roll into your territories and exact vengeance. And arrest a few of the perpetrators which is what happened.

How can a real American be happy being a  Bin Laden and Pallie cheer leader?

You are dreaming. Israeli neutron bombs will take out the hotbeds of Pallie terrorism that use any WMD.

My own guess is that Israel is ramping up production of neutron bombs and other nice small nuclear "problem solvers". Arab nations have had a standing warning for a long time. That if Israel suffers a severe blow, many Arab capitals will be taken out. Israel will not waste time trying to narrow down suspects or figure out exactly who done it. Your Pallie heroes can be added to this list if this is what you are getting at.

You forget one little detail (among others).

First strike.

Bio-weapons don't provide much secondary threat after a nuclear first strike against those who have (had) them.

You are correct a credible threat of bio-terrorism from the PLO would produce peace. Peace because there would be no more PLO shortly after making such a threat.

If you want to see a lot of dead Palestinians, get the PLO to do what you recommend...

Maybe....they SEE the reaction of the 'greatest super-power' to the recent bio attacks, and figure their OWN bio attacks will result in the SAME limp wristed retaliations.

3 - Newbie, You must be quite MAD yourself. It is not "After 53 years of failure to bring peace, a MAD policy is worth a try. " it should be "After 53 years of failing to destroy Israel, since the very moment of it's creation, and failing to topple the government of their own country, Jordan, giving MADmen a MAD capability would destroy the world"

And then where would you get your 72 virgins? Our kids are making sure you won't get them from this country.

You have the moral confidence of a dog. So in your own words, hardened criminals in US prisons should have the same level of deterence as our police to insure peace.

Sick puppy.
