There are plenty of
places on the web where you can get them. Also, there are a couple of airgun magazines out of Britain that have some pretty amazing stuff.

I'm surprised and pleased to know that Walmart will in still be selling guns in Oct, 2010. OOPS!

IMO, you have the best answer.... I think this gal was either
1- a blithering idiot, or
2- an agent provocatuer... -intending to get "inflammatory rhetoric" from the "gun nuts" to use later against them.

More guns = less crime!

2- an agent provocatuer... -intending to get "inflammatory rhetoric" from the "gun nuts" to use later against them. This is my impression. She seemed to want to get a negative response that she could throw into our faces. I remained calm, didn't get red faced, and engaged her in what I considered to be an intelligent conversation. I was glad to see the clerk was well versed in why Wal mart sells firearms and ammunition.

You did the right thing.... I've been in the RKBA fight since about 1967, and trying to reason with people like her is, well, aggrivating in the extreme.
If she really believes what she was saying, she's daft, so I assume she was being disingenuous and provacative by design.

Any thing like this ever happen to you? Yeah, but it's usually with co-workers and a couple of neighbors. Occasionally, these debates happen with strangers whenever I encounter someone making such stupid statements that undermine the Constitution - not only the 2nd amendment. I have been known to defend speech, religious choice, state's rights, and even the electoral college (during the Gore/Bush fiasco).
Sounds like you handled this situation very well. I've found the only way to keep my cool is to practice. It is important to PUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN WHEREVER YOU FIND THEM. I have found that the more you engage in debate with sheeple, the more proficient you will become at shutting them up.
By the way, my local Wally World, 9mm ammo used to be $9.99, but they lowered it to $6.97! I asked the clerk if they were on sale, and she said it was now the regular price. It's UMC brand, and I walked out with 4 boxes that day.

Woman is a complete idiot. I am a small woman, I carry a .380 Bersa (I know all the arguments FReepers use on calipers under 9mm, my Bersa FITS my small hand the best and I like it)I am also the mother of a child murdered with a FENCE POST. Enough said. Guns don't kill, evil people kill, with what ever weapon they can lay hands to, including hands and feet.

Next time ask them if the 5000 who died still get a chance to enjoy the constitution..

So sorry to hear of your loss. This ignorrant woman obviously has not thought of the many ways murder is commited.
As far as caliber goes - what ever works for you is fine. Better to be comfortable and accurate with a smaller caliber than unsure and shaky with a larger one. I would like to suggest you try Glaser ammunition in your .380.

He He He,
"practise makes perfect",
I like that attitude, as above, so below, just like shootin',
if ya'wanna'git'güd, you gotta practise.
Not only is it so true, but these type of blowhards drunk on plastic intellect are actually easy to stifle & expose them for the dangerous fools they are.
Most of us never wanted to take the time, so now we have a plague of stupidity to cure, & prescious little time to do it.
But, you know, I don't mind, it's kinda'fun for me now.
intellectual target practise

If it wasn't for the gun grabbers like her, then September 11th would've never happened. The instant Atta and his buddies jumped up with their box cutters, the passengers would've blown them away had they been armed, stopping the hijacking dead in its tracks.

That response to a ditzy dame is a great
insult because it was/is effective. The proof of its effectiveness is the response from
americalost who said she was offended by just hearing it used against another woman. She is absolutely right about rape not being about sex, but this is about
insults. In fact she is still so offended that she wants to not visit this article again because of it. Your loss
americalost!

Actually I came to this thread in the first place because of SLB and his post, and I want to know what others are saying about it. Dittmar is just annoying me and I'd like him to give up his stupid ghost.
If you two men say something like "you're not attractive enough to rape" to or about any woman, you can expect a response to it. Doesn't make me shrill or unbalanced in any way. I think there are quite a few good men out there that would bristle at the concept also, whether they'll say so to you or not. Would you please shut up about it now?

You sure that wasn't a lost Sheila Jackass-Lee or Diane Feinswine who got sidetracked on I-65? Considering your proximity to Fort Knox, I can't imagine a local with that attitude.

It sounds like the antis are growing frantic.
Next year might see the local "neighborhood watch" carrying slung "sport utility rifles", I wonder how they will react to that?
To: SLB
To: Travis McGee
After a moment of shocked silence over 911, the anti's seem to be ramping up their rhetoric again... the .50 ban ( and allegations that American arms makers supplied our enemies with same ) and tired old "teddy bears are subject to more regulations than firearms."
( 23,086 laws aren't enough? Will #23,987 be the magic one that cures "gun violence?
It will be "interesting...."
FWIW, I see no objection to properly trained & equipped citizen patrols.

If we see Pizza Hut suicide bombers in the USA, I predict that (starting in the south) we will see new "open carry licenses" for prior LEO and military to carry their SURs in public.
