The ban on smoking in public parks "is the next logical step," said Tim Filler, a director of the San Francisco-based Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights. "It just makes sense to make a place smoke-free in any situation where people are at risk."

This guy sounds like he would be at risk anywhere he goes. Probably from anyone with half a brain.

This particular article hasn't been posted, but we have heard rumors that this was being considered.
If they do I would LOVE to have the time and money to be able to go there and smoke in one of the parks and then challenge it to the SCOTUS.

In the end, judicature will have nothing to do with smoking. Allow the socialist left to strangle the tobacco industry either through taxation or deprivation of access to public smoking areas and big government spending will end.

There isn't much more hardball to play here, and it must be realized soon. The sleezes are still holding onto a lost lawsuit instead of making a deal. The sleezes continue to allow massive civil suits and simply watch and drool. I often wonder when a company will make arrangements to move outside of the states to avoid all of these problems.

In the end, judicature SHOULD have nothing to do with smoking.
What it SHOULD have to do with is the enacting of improper laws.
The socialist left has ALREADY strangled the tobacco industry. Thats one reason why I stuff my own now.
Sooner or later, I'm afraid, they will catch up with that also.
If the citizens don't keep trying to rectify this situation soon it will go on to other things that SOME enjoy, but others think are bad or do not enjoy.

My point was that the current coughing will eventually be big government when tobacco subsidies can no longer fund their spending addictions.

The government will let the antis go only so far. Then the govt WILL back off some.
Otherwise the govt loses all the tax dollars from tobacco and people that smoke.
The govt will not outlow smoking until they have found a replacement for those dollars, then - look out.

But the city dwelling smokers will still have to pay all city park taxes of course.......BUT if smokers were allowed to pay less city park tax the number of people claiming to smoke on tax forms would exceed the number of taxpayers....

It just proves that a libertarian and a conservative can still make beautiful music together. How does that work? :-)
