Sigh. So the earlier report about a terrorist being arrested with a bomb like that may be true after all, then. Should be time to end this idiocy soon, but it'll probably not happen before Israel elects someone a little less paralyzed than Sharon.

"uh oh! Can we trust Jordan to protect Israel from terrorists? I did not think so."

I think it's more like the King quietly and discretely hoping that Israel can protect Jordan when push comes to shove. He seems to be a fairly western-oriented pragmatist -- which makes me fear for his safety from the islamist radicals in his country. I think if major instability rises to the surface in that region, he's going to be one of the early targets for those vermin.

I'm sure if the Palestinians had their state all this would end. [/sarcasm]

This is the second such incident. Wasn't the first around the end of September?

I wanted to ask the same question after checking the source. Inflammatory reports like this one need to be verified by other more familiar sources, before posting.

I might well end – while the blast would be nominal, the contaminated area left by a radioactive bomb could be huge– if he doesn't check the local Weather Channel he could contaminate a large chunk of Palestinian turf (and Palestinians) for a long, long time.

The Jerusalem Post

breaking news section would have a mention of this, don't you think?

No. Jpost can be amazingly slow, and there's a pattern in what it is slow at. And the last one wasn't published at all for weeks. And never in Jpost.

How gullible would you have to be to take a headline like this seriously without confirmation or verification? Without being able to even read the original source?

"Terrorists carrying a radioactive bomb arrested"

Says who?

I don't know. I had my doubts, but it appeared to come from a reputable source. Can look it up. Anyway, the interesting thing was that it was said that this wasn't anything improvised but a Russian device. And the fact that the arrest apparently took place soon after rthe 911 attack, if I remember, and still wasn't made public for quite a long time.
