So what? If you bothered to look up the word in any decent dictionary, you would know that there is absolutely no contradiction in the notion that a semite can be an anti-semite.

Anti-semitism has several definitions. One of these definitions means hatred towards semetic people. But another definition, the common definition and the original meaning of the term anti-semitism, means "hatred towards Jews". There is no question at all that a semite can be an anti-semite.

Of course Islam is not going to succeed in "taking over the world", that is entirely beside the point!

The point is, they are setting out on a world war jihad, and in the process of our settling their hash, they may hit us with far worse bio weapons than pin-prick anthrax attacks, or even purloined nukes. During this war, it is quite likely that our economies will be wrecked, with oil not flowing, our post offices shut for the duration, blasted nuke plants sending Chernobyl like plumes over London and Washington and so on.

We Jews have reasons to worry because the West ignores this Jew-hatred. One reason is that Third World evil is rarely taken seriously among Western elites. A second reason is the psychological and political need of Westerners to believe that Islamic societies are, with the exception of "a few extremists," tolerant societies. And the third reason is that Arab/Muslim anti-Semitism is dismissed as a temporary phenomenon that will disappear when Israelis and Palestinians make peace. But this belief inverts reality. The lack of peace between the Jewish state and its neighbors is not the cause of Arab anti-Semitism, it is the result of that anti-Semitism. Since 1948, there has been one reason for the Arab-Israeli conflict - the Arab/Muslim world rejects the concept of a Jewish (or any non-Muslim) state in its midst.

Some of us are very aware of the hatred of the Jewish people and we are angry that some of our leaders would compromise the safety of the Jewish people for political reasons.We watched "the kiss" with horror...and now watch the guarded language of the current administration .We heard the trial balloon offering the "seperate state "idea.

I saw a CNN special where a little 6 year old boy said he would"hate" America untill we "stopped" prosecuting muslims and allowed Islam to become the world religion..that was from the mouth of a 6 year old..

The biggest issue in all this mess is our support of Israel....the question will be will America seek peace at any price.That is what the zealots of Islam are counting on.

This is another reason why the U.S. has to play the card of deportation. Not only does deporting Arab/Muslim nationals greatly reduce the incidence of terrorism in the U.S., like you and Tony pointed out, it cuts off their access to our technology and ability to capitalize from our learning centers. When Middle East people are left to themselves, tribal wars inevitably result. Better that they expend their hostility among their own instead of on us. As long as America acts as an escape valve for their common hatred of Western culture, Middle East nations don’t have to come to grips with the consequences of their dysfunctional Islamic culture. We don’t need this ungrateful culturally primitive people in our midst anyway. Be Gone!

No, the point is not Jew hatred of 60 years ago, it is the Jew hatred of today. The blood libel (i.e. Jews kidnapped Islamics and forced them to crash planes into our buildings, Jews poisoned our water, Jews poison our candy) the hatred ("Kill the Jews whereever you find them" is a common refrain in middle easter mosques), the linkage (we would not harm you if you would only stop supporting the Jews), and the cabal-conspiracies (Jews control the media, Jews control the banks, etc..).

So I think what the author means is that the Arabs have been saying this kind of stuff for decades, attacking Israel many times in war... and then when they lose the wars and continue with this hateful propeganda, the USA and Europe go ahead and say "Islam is a religion of peace" and "terrorists like Arafat can be good leaders of a new state".

What message do we send to them when we don't put them in their place.. when our leaders kiss them after saying that Jews poison their water, or we offer them a new state after being so violent? The message is the wrong message, it says that terrorism and hatred pays, and that it is the only way to get attention from the west. It's a bad message.

Sharon got a lot of flack for demanding that Israel will not be like Czechoslovakia, but isn't that almost exactly what is happening? We have a bunch of crazed mini-Hitlers running around destroying everything, and the west capitulates to their demands. I think it is the wrong policy.

The Moslem countries typically declare Islam is its official religeon, thus they have the right to treat all others as second class citizens. Similarly, Israel calls itself the Jewish state, and grant preferance to jews over others. We in America, do not declare that we are a Christian state. That is simply because we respect all religeons, and all citizens are equal regardless of their faith. If Israel was truly a democratic state, it would not call itself a "Jewish State"!
