There's a great scene in "A Man for All Seasons" when Thomas More points out that it is accepted legal practice to interpret silence as assent. If this ABC scum is insisting on remaining silent about the good or bad of 911, then a person could make the case that his _silence_ is de facto approval.

But, more realistically, I just don't think that "left" and "right" are sufficient characterizing the struggle playing itself out here. I think it's much more of a Blue Nation/Red Nation thing, with the globalist/social activists of Blue Nation America (gearing up for Blue Nation World) putting their foot down about issues like national pride and cultural pride very visibly against obvious enemies like the Taliban as a forerunner to stepping up the heat against those same issues domestically -- the American Patriot movements and American Christians... (Blue Nation makes no secret of hating both "demographics" already.)
