Effective cancer treatments would be suppressed for the same reason we have the War on (Some) Drugs - to protect the pharmaceutical industry's monopoly.

Good luck trying to change anything.

I heard Dr. Bursynski was banned from practicing his Cancer treatment (or something to that effect). I am wondering if he is in Private practice and still seeing patients? He has always fascinated me into thinking he might be on to something, other than the Chemo.

The answer to this question obviously is the same as the answer to the question "why do they continue to represent 'AIDS' as a communicable disease in spite of all of the statistical evidence that indicates that it is caused by drugs?"

To enrich the pharmaceutical industry. - Was there ever any question?

How many people have to die this horrible death? And why are we all brainwashed about it? If you protest, they brand you some kind of whacko nut case from hell. Some of these cancer "treatments" don't make any sense at all. And if you tell the medical profession to "shove it" they get all offended and mad and try to put you in jail (if it's your child you're protecting from the torture). My Mother obeyed every doctor she met up with and she suffered and died from cancer. Makes you wonder. Thanks for this article. For victory & freedom!!!

This argument has been going on for at least 30 years (laetrile). It makes good points, but more persuasive to me is that doctors, pharmaceutical company researchers, employees, and others that may be in on the racket also get cancer. Their families get cancer. I think that if the data were there to support these alternative claims, people would use the treatments.

For years I have felt the very same thing.I have seen cancer removed from a lady that had a herbologist mix up a salve and "drew" the cancer out her back. I have removed skin cancer from my own body with the black cancer salve, I also beleive that to maintain a high ph blood level prevents disase from growing. In the mid-80's I watched a HBO program called Hoxley's Cancer Cure. From that point on I knew that the Cancer Society was a hoax.

Anecdotal evidence, at best. While I really feel terrible for the parent's of the little girl described in the article, just who told them that when she died "it was not from cancer, but from brain damage as a result of chemotherapy and radiation treatments". I imagine it was Dr. Burzynski, as there is no way that his antineoplastins wouldn't work, right?

I think it depends on the cancer. There are some which are cureable, some are treatable, some you can spend thousands of dollars only to get 1 or 2 months longer to live maybe.

There is a health monopoly in this country, maintained by the government, as is to a greater extent in Europe. Numerous regulations and bureaucracies, including the FDA, drug laws, HMOs, etc., create a restrictive environment for those who want to innovate in this field. Moreover, those in the field have an obvious incentive to uphold the existing system: it protects their position and excludes potential competition.
That said, I don't think it's reasonable to argue that simply because suppression exists in the medical industry, that somehow alternative treatments are more likely to succeed. They could work, certainly (perhaps even better than what's in the mainstream). But, in fact, the alternative treatments which fall outside of the mainstream medical industry carry a higher risk, by their very nature. Of course, it should be a patient's decision (or a parent's decision for his child) whether to take that risk or not. The government should have no say in these matters, but unfortunately, it has a great deal.
We're in a conundrum. What are you going to do -- overhaul the entire regulatory structure of the medical industry?

I've had it twice. Had a bi-lateral mastectomy last year. Lost my mother and two aunts ,untold amount of cousins.WHEN will there ever be a cure for cancer on the market??I have two grown daughters. I hold my breath for them and pray they will never have to deal with it. But the odds are not good.
