A radio station was pressured by homosexual activists yesterday to stop running advertisements which favor the Protection of Marriage amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution.
The station refused to stop the ads. However, it indicated that it was under heavy pressure to do so. The speculation in the industry is that it was homosexual employees of the station that were imposing the pressure.
This is another example of unfair tactics that are being used by activists to stop the people from voting on the issue of marriage, said Bryan Rudnick. The opposition wants judges or the legislature to make this historic decision because they know they will certainly lose if the people decide, he says.
Lawyers point out that this radio station is not unique because every business in the state is constantly under this type of pressure. The states civil rights laws protect many people from discrimination because of race and gender. And sexual orientation is included among the favored groups. Therefore, homosexual employees of radio stations are covered and the stations must be very careful not to offend them or they will be sued for fabricated offenses. (The category of sexual orientation is not yet covered under the federal Civil Rights Act, although Sen. Edward Kennedy is pushing hard for it.)
The radio ads began yesterday.
Our network of community organizations and volunteers is fully mobilized and the signatures are pouring in, said Rudnick. This radio campaign will help us reach the remainder of the majority of Massachusetts citizens who support marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Rudnick is chairman of Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage.
Rudnick said the advertising is airing on radio stations across the Commonwealth during the remaining weeks of their petition drive.
We still need signatures but the momentum is picking up. More people are calling us for additional copies of the petition. Our opponents criticism is getting more harsh and threatening. We need to go over-the-top as much as possible. The dirty tactics by the opposition are having an effect. We need to have as many supporters as possible enlist help from their own families, clubs, churches and synagogues.
The ad encourages the listener to contact MCM for petitions or information about the signature drive at 781-647-1942 or www.marriagematters.org.
Here is the information on the GAY AGENDA. Everyone need to know that they will stop at nothing to implement that AGENDA.
