How can you justify a Palestinian state on the basis that Chaucer and Shakespear mentioned the region of Palestine, but not justify Israel when biblical literature mentions Israel as a country far earlier? Why are Shakespeare and Chaucer so much more important than the authors of the Bible?
They are hardly more important that the Bible. The point is that there was no Israel until 1948, but the land has been called Palestine for a long, long time. You really should read the thread so you get 'context' of a conversation.
