And here's an even scarier aspect: my wife and stepdaughter consider the movie, American Beauty, a worthy piece of cinema ... I consider it an enema with perfume, meant to demean and denegrate normalcy, pushing our society ever deeper in the fecal mire of those running Hollyweird and the media. That I have to debate such differences within my own home is disgusting!

I ask you, can Kevin Spacey be a good person, deep down, if he uses his considerable talents to glorify such deviancy which that movie promotes as 'the real America'? I don't think so.

What is it with women. My wife loved that movie and I hated it.

1. The movie was overrated garbage with a solid performance by Spacey. A similar but much better film was "The Ice Storm".

2. If you think what it was denegrating was normalcy then your definition of normalcy is different than mine. It put down a cheating wife, kids who like to demean other kids, and a horrific husband and father (the neighbor).
