Hard Times for Gun Control Group?

(CNSNews.com) - The post-Sept. 11 climate has been good for gun sales and bad for gun control groups. In a letter to supporters, Sarah Brady of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence says, "Regretfully...we have been forced to make significant cutbacks in our programs, threatening our ability to fight for a safer America." She said a "forced downsizing and restructuring" has forced the group lay off about 20 percent of its staff. The letter goes on to solicit funds, and it says a generous donor has agreed to partially match contributions received in the next 30 days. As a further inducement to would-be donors, the Brady Campaign says, "There is compelling evidence that terrorists are stockpiling high-powered weapons and ammunition obtained from unregulated gun markets in this country, such as gun shows." Gun rights groups scoff at such claims. Press reports on Friday said gun sales are skyrocketing in areas affected by the Sept. 11 attacks. Scroll News This Hour for Details and See Earlier Story

"Three times with REDHEADS?
Avoid them...or arm yourself with a cross the next time."

yep, all 3 ex's were redheads, LOL
I can't avoid them, I'm like the moth to the flame, and I don't think I could find a cross big enough, LOL

I don't have a cross. Will the Star of David do?

There is the possibility that the so-called HIV virus is not the cause of AIDS, as many expert microbiologists believe it is not. Some do not even believe that the class of retroviruses, of which HIV is a presumed member, exist at all. Being only an erroneous inference from electomicroscopic observations. Unfortunately, nothing like that will ever be determined of leftists, they are with us for sure and they are infectious for sure.

Reminds me of Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers...a Jewish innkeeper gets "vamped" and transformed, and stalks his pretty housemaid, who shakily yet with some confidence holds up a cross before him. "Oy yoy!" he exclaims with a wicked chuckle, "you got the wrong vampire!!!"

Hey, I remember watching that movie - about 30 years ago. Late one night, drinking cheap sherry, probably Gallo. It was a great flick. Too bad about Polanski. Both what happened to his wife and his close encounters with the third grade (Bett Midler's line).

Love At First Bite: Dr. Rosenberg (played by Richard Benjamin) agrees to meet with Dracula (George Hamilton) at a restaurant where he pulls out the Star of David instead of a cross

Rosenberg: What do you say to (pulls out the Star) THAT???
Count Dracula: (throws up his arm in horror, then puts his arms down) I suggest you leave Cindy alone and find yourself a nice Jewish girl.

It's been a long time since I heard that one. "The Battle Of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton was popular back in the early sixties as I remember. It may even go back to the late 50's. I was an Elvis freak back in those days.

"Or a threat to her meal ticket."

It's the loss of her original meal ticket that resulted in her fury against gun owhers. She is no longer able to spend her days sitting on her butt watching soap operas (we have it from her own mouth that that is what she was doing when she first heard the news about her husband) and somebody was going to have to pay for that.

Around '61 or '62 there was a juke box in a restaurant we used to go to after church on Sunday that had some Johnny Horton songs on it - I liked "Sink the Bismarck" - "Hit the decks a'runnin boys and spin those guns around, we found that German battleship and we're gonna cut 'er down!"
