Awesome. Thanks. I've traversed the continent by car twice in two months and am preparing for the third trip in a few weeks....to see my children and my grandson (I was a VERY young mother and VERY young grandma :~) )

Would love to post a few photos of this awesome country's citizens, have a few great shots of ranchers in Montana, loggers in Washington, farmers in Iowa, bikers in Sturgis (a story in itself---Sheesh I never even heard of Sturgis until I just happened to be passing through during the annual bike rally---thought I had entered the Twilight Zone!)

I have an Olympus digital...but need to learn how to bring them online. Digital photography I know, internet skills I do not!!!!!

LOL,LGE

I feel kind of young to be a granpa at 45 too ... but wouldn;t trade it for the world. That little critter Braedon sure won this old cowboy's heart.

Regarding the pics ... your camera should have a way to download the pics to your computer.

What I do is this.

  1. Download the pics.
  2. Open them in editing program, I use Paint Shop Pro. It's the best out there IMHO for the money.
  3. Choose what you want on the web (either whole pictures, cropping, zooms, etc.).
  4. Reduce the resoultion of what's going on the web to around 350 X 300 pixels or so. This makes them small enough so that even 56K hookups like mine will display them fairly reasonably.
  5. Use FTP to upload the pics you choose to your web space. If you have an ISP, you may have space. They should let you know how to access it.
  6. Use HTML to link to the photos, or create a page to display them. On FR posts, you can just use the IMG command to display them from your web space here on FR. It's what I do, and what I did on this post.
Hope that helps.

OBTW, I bumped a couple of my "Book" thread to your attention.

Regards.
