German police hunt speeding bottom

Police in Germany are trying to identify a speeding driver from pictures of a bare bottom.

Someone 'mooned' at a speed camera as a car went through a 30mph zone in Bonn at twice the limit.

When the tape was examined officials found a perfect print of the offender's bare bottom instead of his face.

Werner Geisbuesch, head of the penalties department of the traffic police, says it is not the usual image picked up by the radar camera in the Godesberger tunnel in Bonn.

"I was amazed when I saw what should have been his face, but judging by his acrobatic contortion he must have been some sort of performer," he said.

Police are unsure whether the naked bottom belonged to the driver or the passenger because the driver's seat was obscured by reflection on the windscreen.

If officers catch the flasher he faces up to a month in jail, a £70 fine and three points on his licence.
