Kensington, Md., officials better not pout and better not cry: Santa Claus is coming to town.

What's more, the jolly old elf's visage may be seen in multiples as Kensington braces for a "million Santa march" in protest of the Town Council banishing him from the official tree-lighting ceremony.

"They should have put the menorah out and included everyone," said Ms. Cagri who is half Muslim, half Jewish and married to a Catholic."Now instead of a facade of unity, they are pulling out everything."

Man is this a great country, or whut? I love this place.

It's always one or two people who ruin things for everybody else. I'm no prude..but I really don't like to watch simulated sex acts on Soaps..in the middle of the afternoon with children in the room. The universal response to that is always...turn the channel and don't watch. Why doesn't the same principle apply to people who don't want to view Santa..or Christmas trees..or Menorahs or Christmas parades? I think they should just go home..shut the door..and DON'T WATCH!!

Now all we need are a thousand tear-stained little girls bawling before the TV cameras who just happen to be named Virginia(for one night, anyway).

Let me see now--Two (count 'em, two) "families" indicate that having Santa present at the tree lighting will make them uncomfortable, so Santa gets the hook and folks don't come downtown. Interesting precedent. What happens if two or more merchants, who probably rely heavily on this event for sales revenue, decide they are uncomfortable with/offended by a local government that threatens the survival of their business and elect to no longer pay taxes?
