Obviously so!

However, the point made several times on this thread is that the fear of muslim males is not irrational... there is obvious reason to have fear of muslim males.

That may or may not be my view- that's not the issue.

If 19 male muslims just killed your family members, and said they did it because they were your family, and they said that they will continue to kill your family whenver possible...it is obvious that a fear of muslim males is reasonable and rational; hence xenophobia is not applicable.

If, however, 19 muslim males killed your family and promised to continue killing your family at every opportunity and you then became fearful of, say, female pigme tribes from Papua New Guinea (ie NOT muslim males), that would be irrational and unreasonable- ie xenophobia.

Notwithstanding the correction, it is the case that democratic strategists often use "hate" to describe opposing views when they are unable to articulate a cogent response to an opposing argument.
