"Black V" (High Time to INDICT DNC Chairman Terry McAullife!!)
Johnny Cash (w/ MUD ticklin' the ivories) ^ | 3 December 2001 | Mudboy Slim

Posted on 12/03/2001 1:46:05 AM PST by Mudboy Slim

"Here Was A Man"
(To be spoken--Johnny Cash-like--over a lonely keyboard version of "Joy to the World")

"Here was a man...a man who was born in a small village, the son of a peasant woman. He grew up in another small village. Until He reached the age of thirty, He worked as a carpenter; then, for three years, He was a travelling minister. But He never travelled more than two hundred miles from where He was born, and where He did go, He usually walked. He never held political office, He never wrote a book, He never bought a home, He never had a family, He never went to college, and He never set foot inside a big city, yet...here was a man.

Here was a man...though He never did one of those things that you usually associate with greatness, He had no credentials but Himself. He had nothing to do with this World, except through the Divine Purpose that brought Him to this World.

While He was still a young man, the Tide of Popular Opinion turned against Him. Most of His FRiends ran away...one of them denied Him, one of them betrayed Him and turned Him over to his Enemies. Then, He went through the mockery of a Trial and was nailed to a Roman Cross between two thieves. And even while He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had in this World, and that was His robe, His Purple Robe. When He was dead, He was taken down from the cross and laid in a borrowed grave, provided by a compassionate FRiend.

More than Nineteen Centuries have come and gone, and today He's the Centerpiece of the Human Race, Our Leader, and the Column to Human Destiny. And I think I'm well within the mark when I say that All of the Armies that Ever Marched, All of the Navies that Ever Sailed, All of the Legislative Bodies that Ever Sat, and All of the Kings that Ever Reigned...All of Them Put Together have not affected the Life of Man on this Earth so Powerfully as that One Solitary Life...

Here was a man."

Dude, you got skills when it comes to making rhymes delve into yer heart...and yer Mind. Some of these poems would make great tunes, don'tcha know. Me and the Band are flirting with some original tunes and I might sneak in some of your words as lyrics...I'll let you know as we're getting together for another jam session tomorrow (Saturday) night.

"Show Yer Rage!!"
(To be sung to Bob Seger's "Turn the Page")

He's all wrong, this loathsome liar, The Beast From Arkansas...
Can you condone Ol' Slick's intern moanin'...humpin' Bill's four-inch Ceegah?!
Can you ignore how he treats women...
Or the girls Willie's Lust destroyed?!
Folks, your thoughts must soon be wondering...the way mine always do...
"Why'd we give Slick so much Power...when he's such a gawl-durned fool?"
Now you know why folks missed Reagan...
I'm just glad Clinton's term is through...mmmmmm...

See, here's the scam...crimes been bold, my FRiends...
More than a Man...humpin' his page...
He must go!! CONVICT Slick, my FRiends...
Must be BOLD...Left'll feel our RAGE!

Well, the Lib'rals are so arrogant...Left's got no Moral Code!
Still, they spew their lies and "spin you"...
As if you just got off the Boat!
You pretend the Press don't bother you...
But you just want to explode...!!!
Most times you can't hear 'em talk...other times you can...
All the same ol' cliches..."Radical Christian"..."Righteous Man".
But, you always seem outnumbered...Right don't dare make a stand.

Here's The Plan, get control again...
Fight da Man, show'em your Rage...
LEFT MUST KNOW!! JAIL their WHORE, my FRiends...
When we're BOLD, we'll turn the page...

Out there on your jobsites...you think ev'rything's "Okay"...
While bit by bit your Liberties...are slowly sucked away!
As the cash flows from your wallet...you stay just beneath the fray.
Later in the evening, as you lie awake in bed...
With the echoes of EX-Prez'dent's lies...ringin' in your head...
How you try, but you just can't forget...
All your forefathers who bled...
They bled for you...we didn't want a King...
We've got laws...put Slick in a Cage!!
Left don't know...how to feel our pain!
When we VOTE, they'll know our rage!!
Ah, there Slick is...in the News again...
DemonRATS, where's YOUR outrage?!
SLICK MUST GO!! Right's in charge again!!
There Slick goes...Where? Think I know-ow!

"What Good Am I?!"
(To be sung to Bob Dylan's "What Good Am I")

What good am I...if I'm like all the rest?
If I just turn away...when Slick's slaughterin' kids...
If I shut myself off...sit 'n' bitch, moan, and whine...
What...good...am...I?!

Why, tell me why...won't the Press tell the Truth?
'Bout Slick's deal with Beijing...'bout the Dead Slick's thugs shoot?
Should I just drink my beer...forget Slick's TREASON and his LIES?!
Whose...FOOL...am...I?!

What good am I...if I fail to FReep?!
Should I lay down in bed...try to restlessly sleep?
When I've seen Waco pictures...children carelessly FRIED...
What...good...am...I?!

Do I tell my kids...that Dad failed the FRee?!
FOLKS, WE MUST MAKE OUR STAND...HELP US CONDEMN WILLIE!!!
Prosecute all his crimes...let's send Slick to Prison!!
Slick shouldda RESIGNED...let no Tyrant be!!!

What good am I...if I bless foolish things?
If I cower in the face of...Vile Tyranny?!
Should I just turn my back..."move on" let Justice die?!
What...good...am...I?!

Speaking as someone that doesn't believe in the Divinity of Jesus, or that he was anything other than just a human being ... I completely agree with your statement above.

Merry Christmas to you Mud, and all of the people close to you.

Mary Christmas to ALL at Free Republic. I love you ALL!

Thanks, my FRiend, and Happy Holidays to you as well. I was also struck by Johnny Cash's nuetrality on the issue of Jesus of Nazereth's Divinity...nothing about rising from the dead, walking on water, laying on of hands, or making water outta wine, just verifiable, inarguable FACTS. If believers of other dieties were to print similarly innocuous claims about folks central to their religion (i.e. Mohammed, Buddha, King David, Moses, etc.), I'd applaud that as well.

Religion, IMHO, was never meant to be a divisive element in the Lives of Men.

For those of you who participated in yesterday's FReep of the poll that made FreeRepublic.com a winner by 65% to whatever as the Most-Trusted News Source...Ain't This a Hoot?!

"Which news source do you most trust?
FoxNews 21%
CNN 24%
ABC, NBC or CBS 16%
Drudge Report (internet news site) 18%
Free Republic (Internet news forum) 10%
None of the above 8%"

That should serve a quite a lesson as to the veracity of polls and pollsters from accross the spectrum...if the Left doesn't like the results, they simply report LIES or don't report the results at all!!

Jokes on them, though, because gogov.com has just demonstrated that they are never to be trusted by Lovers of Truth...MUD

"I can not and will never be neutral on the 'issue' of the divinity of Jesus."

I most certainly agree with you, my FRiend, and have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior; however...

"If I don't believe Jesus' statements that He was the Son of God, I am calling Him a liar and a fraud. I don't think we can have it both ways."

However, while I may believe Jesus is the Son of God, IMHO, it is not my duty in Life to make sure that everyone else on this Planet agrees with me on this "issue." I hope that makes sense, my FRiend.

FReegards and a Merry Christmas to you and yers...MUD

re#101?

I don't think I'm seeing something quite right, here.
Mud? It's my damned lyin' eyes, once again.
Don't be tellin' me they would've went ahead & changed the results of their OWN poll, now; would they? ;^)

Mud, you're soooo right about gogov.com! I saw the results before they changed them, and so did alot of other folks. Too late for them to try to pretend that they're doing honest polls now.

Seems beyond the pale, don't it, but yer lyin' eyes ain't lyin', my FRiend...notice how they removed the number of votes 'cuz they figgered it couldn't be tracked that way?! LOL...we nailed 'em something awful and don't think we ain't gonna make a thread outta it!! Who's got controlling interest over gogov.com...whoever it is gots one helluva comeuppance comin' their way. Reckon Rush will even like this one.

"Liberals and lies; a match made in the fires of hell."

That's what I've been tellin' that "self-described liberal FRiend" of yers, and he keeps on sayin' he ain't lyin' while knowin' full well he is!! Keep challenging the Left and eventually they show their True Colors and it shore 'nuff ain't purty!!

"Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel."

If someone asks what works fer me, I have no problem telling them...but before I saw the Light, I used to hate gettin' preached at--still do, as a matter-of-fact--and I'm not sure if unsolicited preachin' doesn't do more harm than good.

Nice chattin' with ya 'bout this topic, my FRiend...MUD

Yep...they're busted, and don't think fer a minute we ain't gonna make that fact known to all in an activist thread. I figgered they'd simply delete the poll once we got it over 60% for FR, but no, they had to go and print ABSOLUTELY ARBITRARY RESULTS as Truth. Obviously, nothing they will ever have to say in the future has one iota of credence!!

One the internet, once you give up all credibility, you might as well just ditch the Web Address, 'cuz you ain't never gettin' it back!!
