Gail C. Horne, what a idiot. Bob's is the main place for all of Tidewater, VA to take the course necessary to obtain a concealed weapons permit. Most gun owners have bought a gun from Bob's around here. Go, Bob, go.

If you have nothing to hide, then what difference does it make if they have your information../sarcasm off

``It only takes one death for it to become a common-sense issue,'' said Horne, of Norfolk I don't know the exact legalese, but the DMV won't even consider installing a traffic light in a dangerous intersection until at least 3 people die.

Background check = registration; here's proof. Those who oppose registration but support the checks need to rethink things. Fortunately, there are proposals to accomplish a check without being also able to create a registration database, but they haven't been implemented yet. Of course, such implementation will be strongly resisted by those who do want registration after all, such as the ATF and gun grabbers everywhere.

The ATF should be restricted to it's REAL job; tax collections.

``It only takes one death for it to become a common-sense issue,'' said Horne, of Norfolk, who was not aware of the lawsuit. And where have we heard this asinine nonsense before - "if it saves just ONE life, then ________ (you fill in the blank) is worth it" (always said in that sanctimonious tone of voice that drives me up the wall).
She said she ``struggles'' with the privacy issues involved with gun ownership and would not want to see law-abiding gun owners punished.
Of course she wouldn't want to see them "punished", she'd rather see them all disarmed. MORON!

Great post. This is a great guy folks. He's standing up to the EVIL intent behind the request. I really admire that.

The bureau, however, says it is trying only to stop handgun violence and the illegal trafficking of firearms. Yeah, sure. Uh huh.
But ``if we're talking about responsible gun ownership and use, why do we care if somebody has our name?
Fascist.

Guess I'll have to hop onto I-64 and give Bob some business. Eagles up!!!

How can we help Bob?

She said she ``struggles'' with the privacy issues involved with gun ownership and would not want to see law-abiding gun owners punished.Right. Why, I'll bet if you asked Joe Lieberman he'd be "deeply troubled" by the same issue!

I agree, go Bob go! But I suspect he will have quite a battle on his hands.

We had problems with the ATF here in NM. There is a provision that says the ATF "shall not make copy of records (ATF 4473's)". They singled out quite a few gun dealers here in Albuquerque, and copied their 4473's LONGHAND! They claimed that "making copies" meant making photocopies, and they were authorized to copy the information longhand. In other words, a loophole! One of the gun dealers was a very small dealer who only custom built National Match guns! NONE of his, in over 20 years, had been involved in a crime. He averaged 50 guns/ year in sales.

Here we go again, ATF shot gun approach, taking guns from law abiding, not from the criminals.

"...19 of the 114 guns were tied to violent crimes, including seven homicides..."
If I'm not mistaken, self-defense shootings are counted as homicides.
"tied to violent crimes" brings up the question: In what way?
Did somebody STOP a crime using any of these guns?
Is that being counted too?
I don't worry about criminals at all.
OTOH, the BATF's track record make them something to be highly concerned about...
especially when they pull crap like this.
BTTT for Mr Marcus!
