Another Florida man in uniform. I have heard that Florida accounts for some 38% of our nation's active duty personnel, and thus in some ways is fighting the war almost single handed, with some help of course from Texas.

There is a reason for that.
Texas and Florida along with Alaska don't have a State Income Tax.
Military personnel maintain their State citizenship where ever they are transfered too.
When they transfer too a State with no Income Tax they imediately change their vehical/drivers license and register to vote in those States.
They then keep their registration and state citizenships when they transfer out to a State with Income Tax.
It's all about the taxes.
