From your post, it looks like, in theory, if absolutely nothing goes wrong (never happen), then there would only be a few minutes downtime, while the actually switching over takes place? This would be nice, but I expect to be spending a lot of time on the Yahoo site.

No still sweating. . . maybe Google can find a new Ann Coulter column--but it won't have that picture. OK go take a bike ride. . . hmmm is that an internet cafe? I wonder if Free Republic is up yet? There was some problem with the DNS entries for FR a few months back. Some people put entries in their hosts file so they could get to FR without DNS. Hopefully they will all remember to change those entries when the new IP address is posted.

I picked the perfect time to go on vacation. I'll be away for two weeks starting tomorrow, that should give you plenty of time to get the kinks worked out, and maybe when I return my preferences will work again.

It works on all machines. Here is a link to a page with the instructions for doing this. Note that these instructions are a year old and contain the IP address of the server we are now moving away from.

This page will be updated with the new IP address as soon as Jim posts it here.
