If you have a JAVA enabled browser, you can join the chat room by going to the Freedom-USA IRC network website and connect with the JAVA chat you will find at that site. It's not as good as having a real IRC clent installed, but it does work. And one of these days, I'll register the evaluation copy to get rid of that annoying little message that pops up every time you hit the enter key to send your message to the channel .... :)
We'll look forward to seeing you in the chat room. In fact, I'm sure lotsa people would like to chat with you and get your thoughts and impressions of what's happening over where you are in real time chat. If you wanna send me some FR mail of times when you might be available for chat, we can post an announcement here on FR. Have all your buds gather round the 'puter over there, and we'll be gathered round our 'puters over here and we'll have us a little chat...... :)
Further, you guys can use the network whenever to chat with family members. Just send the URL for the website to whomever you want to meet in chat, select times when all the parties are available, and have at it. It's a whole lot easier and more convenient than other chat forums like Yahoo or whatever, you don't have to put up with those annoying little popup ads, and with a JAVA enabled browser you don't even need to download a client.
