Lighten up. Any decent joke is going to offend somebody. I wouldn't tell a joke about drunks to a reformed alcoholic either, but that doesn't mean it's not funny.
It wasn't a decent joke. Not funny. How many jokes are you going to make if your kid gets killed? It takes a sick mind to think that the bloody public death of parents and kids is a laugh riot.
I'm a bit curious. Did you find humour and post your humour to a public forum on September 11th? Oh! I forgot! There were no lawyers or liberals in the Pentagon or the World Trade Center!
There's a time and place for humour even with former drunks. You only need to ask them! They'll be the first to laugh at jokes about drunks.
IMO, you show a callous disregard for family members who have suffered an unimaginable loss.
God, please hold the hurting family members in Your arms. Comfort them, let them feel your love and compassion, help them get through the anguish and pain, and stay by their side through out their ordeal.
