plenty of women in Chemistry and especially Biology, but very few in Physics

I did plan to major in Biology, due to the enjoyment I had in high school (girls' school, no less). HOWEVER, the labs bored me out of my mind, so I broke off the idea of majoring in anything with labs!! I do like to read about physics.

the "bell curve" for women has a smaller variance than the one for men when it comes to mathematics.

Interesting insight. [My girlfriends and I who were "good" in math after all didn't win any Nobel prizes for theoretical mathematics! ;) ]

Actually, it's the Field's Medal (unless you are involved in physics or economics somehow). Nobel is for wimps! :)
