Jocelyn S. Stanley, 19, a world traveler from Wisconsin, was a little lost when her car was blocked by two or three young men standing in the middle of a North Richmond street Wednesday afternoon.

The young men - believed to be her age or younger - apparently took offense at having to move, and one of them shot her in the head, Richmond police officials said yesterday. No arrests have been made.

I suppose we are to assume the shooters were black and then be ashamed of the assumption. That is the usual tactic of such a carefully worded report.

Had the races of the perpetrators and the victim been reversed... but never mind. We all know. What a waste.

I am always very aware of the people around me, and the minute that I think I may be going into a dangerous area I do an instant U-turn whether it is legal or not. I will leave it to you all to figure out what criteria I use to define a dangerous area. You may call me names, but you will never call me a victim.

You got it. In leftmedia anytime a perp is black, nary a word will be mentioned anywhere, even if a description of a still at large homicidal maniac would help the citizenry protect themselves and provide leads to police.

If the perp is WHITE however, well count on it to be mentioned twice in the first two sentences, along with a booking file photo, and a complete description of the HATE crime.

I will tell you this if the victim indeed is white and the shooters are black then I will be the first to call for the crime of murder to fall under the hate crime laws of Va. "The statement you don't belong in this area" could and should be shown that the shooting was racial in nature. The law is the law!!!
