You've got a respect the guys morals, however, his career choice is specious.

Participating in Hollywood's machine in any way would, you think, be something that he would not be interested in.

Outside of the nice little niche' soundbites, saccharine articles, and fans this may win him in the short-term - this cute story will run out of steam, and he will either succumb to the lifestyle, or find another line of work.

Right now his views are considered a marketable novelty.

They are usually short-lived.

The C of M is one of my all-time favorites too--the greatest revenge fantasy ever written. He doesn't get mad, he gets even.

As for the comment that the movie preaches the message that the Count is violent without consequences read the book. He sees himself as the agent of Providence at first, then after his sucess, comes to thinks that he has gone too far. Remember, none of the people who wronged him would have suffered ANY punishment if they had changed their ways and become upright characters. They only met sad ends because the Count set up situations which their flawed characters led them to be involved in. That's what is so cool about his mode of revenge. I doubt that this will come across in the movie.

>>>>Ah nuts. The Count of Monte Cristo is a *Disney* movie? Grrrr. I really wanted to see that one. The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite book of all time.

You can always do a rental down the road. Not the same as a theatre, but it doesn't do much for Disney's bottom line.

Abstinence is self denial, or not having sex. There are different forms, of course. Most commonly it seems to mean waiting until marriage for sex. The opposite is fornication, which biblically means having sex outside of marriage (like abstinence, it can be used differently).

The Bible refers all over the place to fornication being wrong. Etc.

"In my faith, I'm taught that abstinence is important"

Out of curiosity, where does the Bible say that?

First, the guy's married, and a nude scene would certainly satisfy Jesus' definition of adultery. Also, there are plenty of warnings against fornication and indecency in both Testaments.

So I'd say he's got plenty of Biblical cover for his comment.

But you knew that -- you're just trolling.

Jim Caviezel is the lead actor in one of my favorite movies, "Frequency," a movie that combines firemen, baseball, and time travel. Three great subjects, and a must buy for all.

It's good to see a person stick to principles. In this case, virtue overcomes vice. Tinseltown should take notice! Thanks for the post. It was refreshing.

A great movie -- and he's a pretty good actor, too.

Jlo life =way too huge butt and hardly any boobs. She is so overrated. When are she and Puffy PDiddly gonna get together so she can throw a gun out the car door and help Puffy cover up a crime? How come Big butt pear shape JLO life got the mild treatment from the cops? Is she the poster girl for diversity and it just wouldn't be PC to hold her to the same standards as any other citizens.

He's a hell of a good young actor. I'm glad to see he has some stones as well. He was about the only part of The Thin Red Line worth watching besides the enchanting cinematography.

This actor also starred in "Frequency" one of the best movies ever to be made in Hollywood. Unintentionally, it really showed the importance of two-parent families to a child's development into adulthood.

Yep....my wife's rather small and shapely rear end puts that unsightly gargantuan posterior to shame....even after children and in her late 30s.

Note to self....buy flowers for wife today...you are one lucky grey haired ol f@rt!!!!
