Source = Jerusalem Post not Ha'aretz. Link is correct, however...

doesn't zinni seem a bit over his head in these diplomatic waters? a few months ago he arrived in Israel with no set timetable. as both sides killed each other to mark his arrival, he said he wasn't going to leave until the two sides worked out a cease-fire. the two sides looked at him, each other, back at him, started laughing, and kept killing each other. then he said if they didn't stop he was going to leave. the same thing happened. he left. then he came back, to another round of bloodletting. apparantly he just learned that he can't make candid remarks to newspaper reporters. do you think either side respects him at all?

The pox infested camel h---er lies outta both sides of his mouth and other orfices. The cretin makes Clintoon look like a choirboy. Don't bend down in front of that fudgepacking sheep nailer..."and on and on. At the end of the discussion he said.."by the way guys, none of this is for attribution."

Rosen said Zinni "spoke in a candid manner, as people do. He said many punchy things about all kinds of personalities. Some of the things are accurate in a narrow sense, but misrepresent the overall meaning - leaving out things that change the meaning."

IOW, a non-denial, denial.

Sounds like Zinni may have called Arafat, instead of a "mafioso," a "Goombah," or a "spaghetti-bender."

One thing's for sure, Zinni didn't call Arafat a fine, upstanding citizen of the world.
