The problem with your "right" to "decide" what the COnstitution means is that we once had a whole slew of people who thought the Constitution "stood for" slavery. The Constitution, as any man-made law, is only subject to man made interpretation, and literally means what the people---and the nine justices---say it does.

The plain fact of that is income taxes, which are now constitutional, but weren't; and slavery which was, but isn't.
