I love Cuban Americans.....I even used to go to the 2506 brigade bar-b-ques in Kendall....my kind of people. Castro's loss ..our gain.

BUT...we simply cannot afford to incorporate Mexico's teeming masses into the fabric of our nation at this overwhleming rate....it's suicide.

Sorry if I sound nasty, but this @@@@ makes me sick. I worked as a legal secretary for the DOJ in Chicago. I had to pass a typing test, English grammar, and go through a background check. I am a native born caucasian and I had to PROVE it. I am not against any ethinic group obtaining a job in our country. However, they need to meet the same standards as all the rest of us and be LEGAL residents.

You figured that out right away too. Another simple demographic explains the over-representation of blacks in the Federal Work Force: Washington, D.C. is 70% black. A hugely disproportionate number of Federal jobs are located in Washington, DC. Where are government job openings likely to look for the low-paid "window-dressing jobs" such as those who answer the phones, stuff the envolopes and screen the visitors? Bingo! The local population.

A far more useful ssurvey would've concentrated on those who held the mid-level jobs recruited from outside the local area. The State Department, for instance, recruits a hugely disproportionate number of their people from Ivy League and northeastern universities.

No foreign born - whether they're Mexicans or Russians - should ever work in any capacity for any branch of government. They just have not assimilated enough. They come from communist countries and cannot comprehend our Constitution. They owe their allegiance to another nation. So they should not be administering policies that require this understanding in order to function properly. To do otherwise is to invite a police state via cultural pollution.

That's nothing. In Atlanta, blacks are 64% of the city proper and 30% of the 20 county metro.

I'll agree to that. I tried for two years to obtain a job in a government field, but fought to no avail. This is despite that I had high qualifications and had many references. Meanwhile, a friend of mine who is black, "walked right on in" and started work within three weeks of his "job search". This is despite the fact that his qualifications were lower than mine. This is not the only example, but it's across the board. A young white male with no previous work experience has a fairly slim chance of obtaining employment, even in entry level jobs, in most of the country's government agencies. On the other hand, minorities and women have no problem.

Your story is sad but true. Both of my sons have had similiar experiences. That they are native born and sons and grandsons of wounded war veterans doesn't count for them as much as being Caucasian counts against them.

My father even mentioned that I should put an African sounding name on my resume. I'm pretty sure that I would have been called.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude in my field with a 3.96 Grade Point Average. I had only one "B" over the course of my college career. Everything else were "A"s. I interned at an agency, had high, impressionable references, yet I was never given the opportunity. I had several job interviews, but at every one of them I was told that I had no job experience. Meanwhile, my black friend, applied to one agency and was hired right on the spot. This was three weeks after graduation. He had a "C" average, and I tutored him during college.

What was I doing? I was delivering pizza making roughly $15,000 per year, all the while still looking for employment.

I eventually had enough, and stopped any intensive job search after two years. I've decided to go in business for myself.

Yep....I am very grateful to live here. Nashville is the most livable southern city. In Atlanta....maybe 25% of the taxpayers are carrying the rest...it can't last forver.

A friend forwarded a copy of this article to me with the suggestion that I "make my ethnicity work for me." I responded that "Racial quotas" is not among the keywords in either my Headhunter.net or my Monster.com search criteria.

Although, as you know, I tend to view the glass as half full when it comes to Hispanics, I do not think my prejudice is in force when I suggest that the "under-representation" of Hispanics as servants of Leviathon may mean that they, as a group, have not been as successfully co-opted as some others who shall remain nameless. Leviathon is probably worried that a growing number of Hispanics will be joining their Cuban brothers on our side of the battle lines.

Well we have entrenched liberal leanings from some Hispanic groups such as the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans. I'm not sure about Mexicans...it seems they certainly at this juncture lean left.

We must hope and pray this will evolve and change. Even if we sealed our borders today .....with their birthrate and the numbers already here both legal and otherwise...they will be at least 20 % of our populatiion in another few generations. It's already a fait accompli.
