Do you know what the most abundabt green house gas is? Take a guess on it's percentage at sealevel for the average of the Earth's atmosphere.

What I am most interested in is the ice content of the earth. The ice acts like a thermostat, and helps maintain a fairly constant temperature on the earth by using energy to melt. If one can see a consistant deterioration or the worlds ice content then one could assume an increase of energy upon the earth. Not that green house gases might have anything to do with it if there was a marked decrease but that is what I would look for instead of world climate changes.

A large empty room that is cool, soon becomes uncomfortably warm when it is filled with people. So, my question is, if a heat increase, with time, is true for the air in a crowded room, then why is it not true for the atmosphere of our increasingly crowded planet?

Yeah, but the specific heat of the room and its contents actually goes down as people are added. What I was talking about was making measurements of the temperature for years at say 15' from the person, then gradually moving closer and closer until you're making oral temperature measurements.

People are warm, but compared to solar flux and radioactive decay, our biochemistry is a small contribution to the Earth's heat balance.
