OTTAWA - Crew members from a Canadian frigate boarded and seized a tanker in the Arabian Sea suspected of smuggling Iraqi oil in violation of United Nations sanctions, a Canadian naval commander said Friday.
Jim Heath said the HMCS Vancouver intercepted the 1,600-ton tanker when it left territorial waters earlier this week near the Iran-Pakistan border.

American men or those of our allies going into action is always news. It is not normally thought of as dangerous to take over a ship like that. But in time of war it is. I believe about 6 weeks ago some americans boarded a ship under a similar situation. Some of the americans were killed along with a bunch of the sailors from the ship which ended up at the bottom of the ocean.
The media have a responsibility to report news. They don't care if it's canadian, american or any ally. If they catch a whiff of the war going on, they'll report it.
