How's this for an apology? I'm sorry Jim hasn't added an "Ignore Poster" feature on this site.

Ask him to make sure you can ignore you own posts. Eventually, like everyone else here, you'll get sick of the dribble that comes from the keyboard in front of you.

Wonderful letters.

I agree, good job, and appreciated by most of us here. That was a lousy apology. The editor knew the cartoon was offensive, but he ran it anyway because he agreed with it.

"back wood ninnies" ?

Oh, your superior intellect has just been SO evident throughout this. Try proofreading first ... or running spellcheck and grammar check, if you want to impress anyone. You're a real hoot, you are.

Fox News Sunday showed the cartoon this morning and made note of the incredibly strong negative reaction to it.

Thought I'd share this e-mail I just got from one of the advertisers in this rag.......

Having found the recent ad in the Concord Monitor in such poor taste, it has been our decision to cease all advertising in this newspaper until an apology is forthcoming.

Thank you for your concern.

I Just checked my email and had a reply from George Wilson....top dog of the company that owns the Concord I believe. Here is my email then his reply.

Dear Sir,
Please do your job and keep a tighter reign on your editors. The Concord Monitor today printed an editorial cartoon that is a complete disgrace to journalism, and relfects poorly on your newspaper.
I will be civil, but am sure you will be reciving a lot of hell for allowing this to happen.
Regards,

His reply

Mr. XXXX,
Thank you for the civility. We made a terrible mistake and are embarrassed by it. I am sending a copy of the editor's remarks from yesterday's Monitor.

Its nice to see a newspaper own up to its mistakes. The daily rag that serves my town would never do such a thing.

It was an actual apology, and admission of an error in judgement, without much mincing words. I give him credit for that.
