Sounds like someone who needs to constantly be center of attention. He didn't have to pee, he just wanted to show how macho he was. The guy's a jackass and just wanted to cause trouble. He needs a good, hard slap.

"This is no time to be engaging in little acts of machismo and defiance."

You mean like the passengers on Flight 93, fighting back against hijackers? btw, the scariest aspect of this thread are the dickwits above trying to justify the legal response to this.

No thanks. I'll drive.

Having both driven and flown across America I've come to the conclusion that in a car...
I'm in control. I can do as I please. I only have to worry about 2 dimensions. (that third one is a killer!)The scenery is better. I can eat whatever and whenever I want. No snotty stewardess. No layovers. No bumped flights. No one is frisking me...etc

Authorities said a flight attendant instructed Bizarro to return to his seat immediately after he left the bathroom. She said Bizarro, who is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, ignored her orders and stared at her for about a minute before returning to his seat, according to the FBI.

The incident was seen by two of three undercover air marshals on board, the FBI said. One of the agents said he saw Bizarro give what appeared to be a "thumbs up" to another passenger as he returned to his seat, prompting the marshals to take control of the cabin.

Since 9/11, I've noticed that for most flights, the cost of a ticket has not decreased, the multiple rules and fare penalties for changing tickets have not decreased, yet the airlines have gotten billions of dollars in government bailouts with my tax dollars.

The idiotic pc rules which dictate that 80 year old ladies and 3 year old children be treated equally bad as potential terrorists only continue to expand.

I can't say I won't ever fly again, because I don't have time or the proper equipment to get to the Caribbean or Europe myself. But I have given up flying for shorter trips. If it seemed like the airlines were making up for some of their shortfalls in other ways, I might have more sympathy for them.

\ I'm going to the Olympics this week. Last year I would have flown. This year I'm driving.

What difference does it make if he goes to the bathroom 25 minutes before landing, or 35 minutes before landing? Is there something dangerous he could do at 25 minutes, but he could not do at 35 minutes?

Incredible.

Makes you wonder how many of these 'sky marshalls' were previously with the BATF.

Or maybe, the Stasi.

How can the authorities even THINK of imprisoning this man? He broke no law! He merely violated an expedient rule, concocted to make the Airlines and the Feds think they are "doing something" about security.

America was once a Nation of Laws which arose from common sense and common decency. We are now a Nation of petty Legalisms which arise out of common stupidity and the aims of wannabe tyrants.

Because of the incident, air marshals aboard the plane ordered all passengers to put their hands on their heads for the rest of the flight.
This is what happens when you put the former head of the Clinton-era ATF in charge of air travel security. His people act like jack booted thugs.

Whatever they did to the guy who had to go to the bathroom, there's absolutely no excuse for treating everyone on the flight like criminal suspects. All the marshalls should be fired, unless Magaw specifically authorized this approach. In that case he should be fired, but he never should have been in this position to begin with.

No wonder I drive a 1000 miles anymore(have 44 will travel without problems) without tha NAZI feds on board. All actions that mattered in the sky has been handled by the PUBLIC (or co-pilots with an axe). I support Bush in his war on terrorism, and love our military for doing what they do. The FED's are a whole different matter. Control is one thing, being a bunch of pricks is another. Three sky-marshalls? They must have all got on board for a guy named Bizzaro(sp). Bet the guy will ski the "Sierra cement" or Colorado Rockies before he ever goes back to "the greatest snow on earth"! 2002 welcome big brother.

Want to fix this? Don't fly

Make the Airlines beat some GD sense into the Air Marshals. I can understand the need for heightened security, but what they are doing is bullshit. Hit them where it hurts. Hit their pocket book. I guarantee you that if enough passengers complain to the air lines AND our representatives, they will get the kiddy guarders under control and start implementing some REAL security measures.
