"lobotomy:

surgical operation in which the nerve pathways in a lobe or lobes of the brain are severed from those in other areas; the operation formerly was used as a radical therapeutic measure to help grossly disturbed schizophrenics, manic-depressives, and other mentally ill patients. The lobotomy was introduced in 1935 by two Portuguese neurophysicians, António Egas Moniz and Almeida Lima. The practice was soon widely adopted, largely because there were few other viable therapeutic measures at the time for quieting chronically tense, agitated, delusional, intractable, or violent patients."

Time for Ted to see his neurosurgeon.

You think he has the intelligence of an orangutan. Why if I were an orangutan, I'd be pissed. I think TT is more in the league of oh, say, a trivet.

Why don't you divest yourself of your money you hypotcritical SOB! Also, if it is poverty, how do you explain the other hotspots of Islamic terrorism?

poverty?

"A few more votes in Florida, and we could have had the best environmental president we ever had. Now we've got an oil man. He (President Bush) is like another Julius Caesar. Just what we need."

And 15 of the 19 hijackers represented the oil wealth of Saudi Arabia in a religious jihad. Go figure.

I'm surprised any liberal is a success in business -- and that includes the entertainment business -- considering their contempt for the public who consumes their product and love of government confiscation of wealth.

I think the barriers to the success of liberals in business are more fundamental; they refuse to accept the rule of cause and effect. They believe wealth should result without the inconvenience of hard work, and in many other topics, they insist on believing the world, and human nature, works they way they wish it worked. They are very stubborn about this, and it amazes me when any of them succeed. I guess the only thing they have going for them is the (sometimes) loyal patronage of their socialist fellow travelers. Of course, the landlords of the middle ages got wealthy at the expense of the serfs as well; maybe that's an apt parallel.

One of two Turner ranches in New Mexico (Vermajo Ranch) overlies large natural gas deposits owned by Penzoil (I believe). They will/are being developed because he can't stop it because the mineral rights aren't his. I love the irony of natural resource development beneath the very feet of a rabid pro-environmentalist nut. Sweet!

Ted Turner called the World Trade Center terrorists "brave,"

This is what these 'brave' men did:

(1) attacked a group of unarmed civilians (most likely) slitting the throats of female cabin attendants and

(2) flew planes into the building causing their own (and others) quick and therefore relatively painless death.

They were no more 'brave' than Ted Bundy, John Gacy or Jeffrey Dahmer ... or the last six people to jump off the Golden Gate bridge.

Turner and Maher, peas in a pod.

Irrelevant?

The only problem is that many Dems and leftists are mimicing this looniness. This is a telltale sign of what will be the mantra of the leftists throughout the year.

The Providence Journal reported he then asked for a show of hands from those who would act as suicide bombers for their country, but none was raised.

Gee where is the equivalency? The hijackers were committing suicide for their religion, not their country.

What an idiot. Even Hanoi Jane got fed up with him.

I've heard Ted is the nation's largest private land owner and also owns the nation's largest herd of bison. He intends to use the bison in a chain of "bison burger" resturants he's opening.

Can anyone confirm that he is the nation's largest landowner?

"Well, he DID give $100,000,000 to the United Nations"

I have NEVER heard of one cent changing from Ted's hands to the UN... Have You?

That was show only..

The area where there is oil in the ANWR is pretty small. The caribou herd comes back there year after year to have calves. While the area looks desolate and mosqito ridded to us it provides some grasses and conditions for this great herd to reproduce and raise a calf to a size that it can make the migration folloing the next seasonal change.

My fervent hope is that all drilling is done from the perimeters and in as sound a way as possible. Caribou would make a fine meal. Only work in the area during the seasons when the caribou are away and quitly pump oil and use as few personnel as possible otherwise.

Just outside the oil bearing region put up shacks for hunters to thin the herds as they return to the calving grounds and the meat can be consumed by the sportsmen or sold. I think the caribou herd is worth far more than the oil. Give me a well managed caribou herd and some steak sauce.

I appreciate the fact that Turner speaks publicly about what's on his mind. There are thousands in the media who share his thoughts and are not so "courageous" or so stupid as to put those thoughts out for public consumption. Turner may be considered some kind of nut, but he is a representative nut of much of the media business. Rarely do we get to take a good look at the mindset of those who have the power to shape our culture.

I wonder why Bud Selig never disciplined Turner for his anti-Christian comments the way he punished John Rocker for his so-called anti-gay comments. Maybe because Selig is a gutless coward and a hypocrite.

Ted Turner is mentally ill...

All the more reason he should be kept in a straight jacket, have a permanent keeper on hand at all times, and be forced to take his meds!
