This is getting funnier and funnier.
Who the heck needs daytime soap operas.

"Everyone knows what we deserve..." Yeah. We know.
Silver.

"It went against any moral and ethical norms that exist in sport where athletes, not lawyers, compete against each other on the slopes and in the sports arenas and not in back rooms," Nezvegsky said.
This is precisely the issue, Mr. Nezvegsky - backrooms. And in backrooms the Russian and French judges conspired to commit a species of professional "fraud", were caught, and the Russian players suffered the consequences.

In other news, the dispute over who would be king of the leper colony was resolved when the lepers agreed to co-monarchs.
Apt resolution for a performing art masquerading as sport.

In 1969 there was a futbol war between El Salvador and Honduras. You don't suppose we might be fortunate to witness an ice skating war between, oh, Russia, Canada and France? That would be lovely! But first let's sign the winning medalists to the Hurray For Everything touring ice revue.

"It went against any moral and ethical norms that exist in sport where athletes, not lawyers, compete against each other Yea, like the 1972 Olympic mens' basketball game!

High comedy. :) If someone takes a whack at Jamie Sale's leg (not that I'd mind doing that myself...) with a pipe, THEN things officially leave earth orbit. ;)

"Who the heck needs daytime soap operas." Who needs the silly, globalist-socialist spectacle that they call, mistakenly, the olympics?
To: The_Victor
"The Russian team reacted furiously to Friday's decision, describing it as a huge blow to the Olympic spirit."The "spirit" of the olympics has been corrupted for a long time and in Salt Lake it began before the city was selected!

If the Russian can only get a gold medal by cheating and then their cheating fails, they deserve to be furious.(They got caught)

So, the Russians are upset. Too bad! They should be ashamed of themselves for wanting their pairs skaters to win by crooked means, when they obviously were not the best skaters of that night. They should be proud of Alexi Yugandi, the male skater that won the gold last night. He did deserve the gold. How would they have liked it if Yugandi had been screwed over by the judges and wound up with the silver and some less deserving non-Russian skater took the gold? They would be complaining too.
To: The_Victor
Maybe the russians should stop trying ti "fix" the result. They complain when their illegal and unethical practices are discovered. Remind you of anyone? (Hint: Sounds like "Klintoon".)

Lets see what shows up on the news first tonight: Enron or skating scandal.

I think everyone should have gotten a gold medal. Everyone tried sooo hard. And everyone's been sooo nice. After all, there no reason for anyone's feelings to get hurt now is there?
Awwww...Group hug now!

My wife is Russian, LOVES figure skating, LOVES Russia's team, and says ..."the Canadians were robbed"!

This is pretty funny stuff. Who gives a flying camel anyway?
Whatever happened to Denise Rich? Now THAT was a topic worthy of infinite trashtalk and gossip.

Maybe the French judge had his heart with the Quebec succession crowd.
"Screw dem peoples in Canada!"

The IOC and this entire network of Judges ( who probably get their positions and "authority" in much the same way most judges do) are beginning to remind to more and more of the United Nations.
