There is a check-off for the Presidential Election Fund ("PEF")on the IRS1040 form. I consider this an annual referendum on the TAXPAYERS support for public financing of the presidential election.

The most current data from the IRS and the FEC shows that only 13% of the TAXPAYERS check the YES box. The PEF funds three activities: (1) the Primary Election, (2)the Convention, and (3)the General Election. The PEF also has a priority system in the event of a short fall of money. Now guess which of the three activities is #1?

The correct answer is THE CONVENTION!

The pimps of the election industry, many of whom are the leading voices for CFR, ensure that there is funding for their social get togethers.

Wake up people!

I left out a portion of my previous post.

The low TAXPAYER participation (13%) was the principal reason that the Congress increased the check-off from $1 to $3 in 1993. The annual $25 million siphon of TAXPAYER money was not enough, so the Rs and Ds in 1993 overwhelmingly increased the check-off and nobody said anything!
