Group Plans to Show Disney Stockholders 'Gay Day' Video

(CNSNews.com) - Walt Disney Co. shareholders this week will get the chance to watch a video of last year's "Gay Day" at Disney World in Florida, which contains "utter perversion, debauchery and outlandish behavior," according to the Christian activist group planning to distribute the video.

The Christian Action Network (CAN) will make the video available at the Tuesday's Disney shareholders meeting in Hartford, Conn.

The video, produced by the Christian Action Network from last year's Gay Day, contains footage of "homosexual kissing, hugging, fondling, and even relates the incredible story of X-rated movies playing on a Disney cruise line bus," according to the Christian group's press release.

Martin Mawyer, president of CAN, stated that he wants the shareholders to witness the behavior that occurs each year at Disney World.

CAN spokesman Phillip Vaught added that Disney's image as a family-friendly resort is tarnished each year when it hosts Gay Day.

"It's a problem because [Disney] bills themselves as a family retreat," Vaught said. "A lot of people save up a lot of money to go down there and are pretty shocked when they go during [Gay Day] to see what happens."

The Walt Disney Co. did not return phone calls requesting an interview.

Doug Swallow, the founder of Gay Day, said when the event began in 1991, it caused a lot of controversy; but the controversy has since died down.

"They have tried this so many times, that it is a dead horse issue as far as Disney is concerned," Swallow said. "No one else cares, but evidently they do."

Swallow said he thinks the video produced by the Christian Action Network should be shown because there is nothing in it that should be deemed offensive.

"I really think they ought to show it, and if a shareholder wants to watch it, let them watch it. It doesn't matter," Swallow said. "There is nothing that goes on in the park that anyone can object to, and as a shareholder, the fact that people spent money while they were there is more important than any other issue."

Gay Day is scheduled for June 1 this year.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Members of a Christian activist group will try to show shareholders at The Walt Disney Co.'s annual meeting next week a video of gays and lesbians at Walt Disney World during Gay Days. The goal is to show shareholders footage of members of the same sex holding hands, kissing and cuddling during the annual festivities, said Phillip Vaught, executive director of the Forest, Va.-based Christian Action Network. Walt Disney World doesn't sponsor Gay Days, although many of its events are held on its property. "I don't think shareholders realize what goes on down there at that ...

Translation: "This is a noose around our homosexual necks, and we know it".

In January I sold the Disney stock I had held for 10 years. Couldn't stand to have any association with the company any longer.

Eventually those who hold stock in "family friendly" Disney may be happy to see some public artwork like this Public Enema No. 2 - see reply #3 as "quote of the day" displayed there in their own private video showing. Especially if they consider what they're going to see at the next stockholders' meeting as "much ado about nothing"

My husband suggested a Disney vacation, personally I don't think they could clean the room or especially the bathroom, given the aids virus is almost impossible to kill, enough for me to feel comfortable with having the family stay there.

Not so. The virus will 'die' (viruses aren't really 'alive' in the normal sense) in a matter of hours when exposed to open air. Besides, there is nothing about using a bathroom that would deposit the virus there.

Have you been watching the Disney channel lately? Saturday night I happened to catch the "supergirl" music video (from the "Princess Diaries" soundtrack). It is quite clear in several vignettes that the singer has "the high beams on" under her shirt. So it ain't just on the gay side that Disney is encouraging and profiting from the sexualization of kids.

I thought the aids virus could live for up to three weeks outside of a host. Three weeks is a long time in germ world.

HIV will fall apart as soon as the spot its sitting in dries out. Its got a fatty section in the protein coat that's very unstable. It takes real determination to spread it.

No. Some viruses, like Hep-B can 'live' for quite a while in open air. But HIV is extremely fragile & it can't survive more than a few minutes - or at most hours under some circumstances - in the open. This is evidenced by the fact that there is not one confirmed case of environmental transmission (e.g., toilet seat). This is also why it can't be spread by coughing or sneezing despite it's (sometimes) presence in saliva. Even if it did survive in the open, you wouldn't get exposed to an infectious dose.

In other words, the Disney homosexual boycott is not about sex. It's about the way they wear their hair?

It’s a sad indictment of the Disney Channel’s values that the most level-headed, stable, non-body-dysphoric, non-twerking, non-sexting, non-drug-abusing, non-rehab-hopping actress to come from their recent network of teen stars is Raven-Symone, a lesbian.
