CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) -- A federal judge on Thursday revoked the citizenship of John Demjanjuk, agreeing with government allegations that he guarded Nazi death camps during World War II.
Judge Paul Matia said there is enough evidence to prove that he was a guard at Nazi death and forced labor camps without eyewitness corroboration.

You fellows are still trying to weasel out from accountability, aren't you! Which fellows am I a we of and what accountability am I weaseling out of?

Doesn't matter what he got in Israel or might have received in Maryland. It is the principle. I'm not an expert on extradition treaties, but they do create injustices. My choice I send him to Md, but I can live with the result. Isn't it funny we're discussing him on a thread about a Nazi freed by Israeli courts on a technicality (and IMO technicalities are important, for all the harm they may do, they often protect our freedoms)?

You are absolutely right that you and I do not have the same the same feelings or sympathies for Demjajuk.
There are some very fundamental differences. You, SJackson et.al., demand vengeance against all perceived enemies.
When the facts immerged that the NYC commies along with the USSR bolsheviks were responsible for the murder of millions of Christians, you and your ilk spewed nothing but malefaction.

When the facts immerged that the NYC commies along with the USSR bolsheviks were responsible for the murder of millions of Christians, you and your ilk spewed nothing but malefaction. I don't completely understand who me and my ilk, et al are, IYO. I may not be as informed on the topic as you, but I have no problem with prosecuting war crimes commited under the "Evil Empire". But it shouldn't be selective. IMO, in the name of justice, Dushanski and Demjanjuk can be hung together. And if non-Jews that committed the same crimes as Dushanski aren't punished, and if those that committed Demjanjuk's crimes aren't punished because they are "too old", well, that's a stain on Lithuania.
I tried to give you an honest answer. Can you explain the significance of Jewish Lesbian Daughters of Holocaust Survivors in this discussion?

I wish he'd been turned over to those Russian POW's who survived without joining the SS. Before or after Stalin had shipped those survivors off to the Gulag? Somehow I suspect that afterwards they would not have felt so vengeful towards collaborators with the Germans.

I don't think it's right what the government is doing to this guy even if he did serve as a camp guard.Maybe he's innocent; maybe not. But if this guy did serve as a guard at Sobibor, nothing our government can do would be severe enough.
To: SJackson
Thank you for this apparently polite answer. I find it rather odd that you would compare the verified genocidal crimes of Nachman Dushanski with the undocumented accusations against Demjajuk.

until those two brave Jewish lawyers(one now dead and the other assaulted with acid thrown in his face) What?
Somehow I missed this story entirely.

IMHO, in 1945 they should have taken every person who a camp guard and shot them. There are no innocent people in a place that is murdering a thousand people per day unless they are there as a prisoner or a slave. What say you about our abortuaries here at home?

Will get back to you about this! (bed time, you know..) The Demjajuk story is truly dynamic. If it hadn't been for those brave Israeli lawyers who exposed the corrupt Israeli judge, the corrupt prosecution and the lying witnesses , Demjajuk would have been executed.
Despite what we see here on FR and in the US media, there is still some hope that there are still some moral peoples out there in this very sick world.

CO posted a link to a story a few weeks ago or so about how the psychological effects are being passed on to offspring.
So in theory, I guess it could last in perpetuity.

By the way, I certainly hope our government is this persistant in bringing the killers of Daniel Pearl to justice. However long it takes. It's an important lesson to the world, when people are brought to justice.
To: SJackson
Russian POW's who survived without joining the SS... Your heros survived because thier own Russian leaders didn't get the chance to kill them. The Russians killed more of thier own people than lost to the Germans.
