according to Andrea Koppell, the State Dept said US officials got hold of a video which confirms he is dead. She is carefully mincing her words so as not to shock us, but it obviously showed his body.

I believe it was yesterday, or the day before, when that British kidnapper in custody referred to Daniel Pearl as "a Jew", that it seemed most likely he was dead.

Maybe we should have known all along...but it's hard to give up hope, isn't it?

I just saw a CBS special report with Dan Rather and he said that the FBI has a video, which has undeniable evidence of his demise.

I declared Pearl dead several days ago. His kidnappers had no other plan than to brutalize and kill him. The Pakistani police knew it, too, and lied to avoid swift consequences.
