There has been over 350 Israeli Jews killed in Israel in this last wave of terror, yet I've never seen Sharon act this way, and willing to put so many resources for a single "American Jew " who it is claimed had no business dealings with Israel or its government. Strange, is it not? Don't regular Israeli Jews, who were killed, count?

Yes, it sounds like Danny Pearl was somebody who the Israeli government deemed unusually important, for whatever reason. On another thread there was a somewhat heated debate on whether Daniel Pearl had Mossad connections.

The so-called mastermind of Pearl's kidnapping, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, is an unusually brutal anti-Semite, even for the contemporary Arab world. He and his fellow slime set up the extremely public murder of an American Jew, and went to a great deal of trouble to make a gruesome video associating his death with his Jewishness. Pearl's killing was demonstration that the Islamofascists regard Jews and Americans as the same enemy. It was an international terrorist organization's public declaration of its agenda, aimed at all Jews and all Americans: "We will slaughter you for being what you are."

This is something of an entirely different order from the riots in Crown Heights. Those thugs were not full-time professional killers; did not make a snuff-video; and did not report in to superiors in Canada to report to higher-ups in an international organization.

The mass-murder of Jews only 60 years ago by those who shared Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh's goals is to say the least a very important part of Israel's memory. Preventing their ilk from doing it again is an important part of Israel's raison d'etre. The Israeli government does not need any other reason for taking Pearl's killing personally. It was a knife pointed at the throat of every Jew (and every American) on earth.

Your obsession with this utterly unfounded insinuation that Pearl worked for Mossad is very curious. You have made your point; though you have given us no reasons at all to believe that he did, we all agree that no one can prove that he didn't. Yet here you are on another thread, hammering it into the ground. Is there no other aspect of this horrible event that interests you?
