WHO SUCKS: The Sanctimonious Jimmy Carter
BSNN.NET ^ | 2-27-02 | Nathan Porter

Posted on 02/27/2002 8:39:30 AM PST by KLT

By now everyone’s heard about Jimmy Carter’s latest spasm of brilliance. Criticizing President Bush's "axis of evil" phrase as "overly simplistic and counterproductive," Carter said he thought it would take years to repair the damage done by that statement. Many folks smarter than me have already pointed out the obvious lunacy of the biggest presidential failure of the last century chastising any president, but I feel the burning need to get something off my chest. I hate Jimmy Carter. And not only that, but I hate his wife and his freakish daughter, too. All things Carter repulse me. I realize hate is a strong word that should not be used lightly. But after careful consideration I’ve come to the conclusion that it is the only honest assessment I can make about the man.

Like many Americans, particularly we Southerners, I’ve tried to convince myself that while his utter failure as president is without question, Jimmy Carter is a good and decent man who found his true calling as an elder statesman. In part because he is a Southerner, and in part because he is a seemingly devout Christian, many of us have tried to rationalize, compartmentalize if you will, our feelings about Jimmy Carter: President Carter, bad. Ex-president Carter, good and decent. No more. I’ve had all I can stand of this pompous asshole and I will never again qualify my hatred for him.

The fact of the matter is, I find him indecent and the complete opposite of a statesman. A statesman is one who shows wisdom, skill, and vision when dealing with public issues. Clearly Jimmy Carter is no statesman.

Liberals always chide conservatives about being morally superior, but I can think of no couple that fancies themselves the moral superiors of the rest of us more than Jimmy and Roselyn Carter. I have noticed this for years. Whenever I see the Carters interact with other first families – like at an inauguration or national day of mourning – their condescension cannot be disguised. Roselyn appears to be in a continual, lifelong nervous breakdown. This poor woman makes Kitty Dukakis look sane, yet she finds the strength to look down on the scoundrels that surround her at every turn. These two are arrogant and sanctimonious and I have grown weary of their moral superiority show. I don’t know what makes them think they are better than the rest of us. I guess it’s because they have plenty of free time to build crappy-looking row houses in neighborhoods whose residents would rather not to see their property values plummet (they paid for their houses, don't ya know). Building homes for the poor is a great thing, I suppose, but is it consistent with their morality to sit silent while Bill Clinton runs amuck in the White House, speaking out against him only when it is too late to do a damn thing about it?

It was about this same time last year when Jimmy went public with his scathing attacks against the Clinton pardons. This conceited asshole knew Clinton was joke from the beginning but did nothing to warn America about him until it was too late. He’s known about every Clinton scandal from Bill’s days as governor, and while it’s obvious he doesn’t really like the Clinton’s, he never said a negative word about them when it would have mattered (e.g., 1992 at 1996). And when the Lewinsky dress hit the fan, Carter’s admonitions were tepid at best. When it came to denouncing Bill Clinton, whose interests was Jimmy Carter protecting? America’s or Jimmy Carter’s?

So excuse me if I don’t get all misty-eyed about the house-raising, failed ex-president from Plains when he imparts words of wisdom for President Bush. Frankly, I think he needs to spend a little less time telling the rest of us how to behave, think, and feel, and a little more time lusting in his heart. For the only thing that Jimmy Carter hasn’t failed at is sucking. When it comes to sucking, Jimmy Carter has no equal.

He's good with a hammer. I particularly like what he's done to his head.

Remember the old saying about keeping your mouth shut and letting the world think your stupid being better than opening your mouth and letting the world know it? Carter reminds me of that.

Carter seems to be the only president in recent memory that had no political machine behind him. It is as if he was kept out of the loop and hung out to dry. This makes him interesting as a ex-president. A lone wolf, so to speak.

Not too long ago, Jimmy was out drumming up support for cutting Canadians out of the lumber market. Know where Jimmy gets most of his income? Timber holdings.

Jimmy Carter reeks of irrelevancy.

He's not completely irrelevant. His total incompetence led to the Ayatollah seizing control of Iran from the Shah and taking the hostages, which marked the beginning of the tidal wave of whacko Islamism. The relevance of this came into particularly sharp focus a few months ago.

This isn't a joke from that site, is it?

Thanks for posting it; it states exactly how I feel about him. They are still mad because he wasn't re-elected.

My feelings about Carter almost exactly. I would not have used the strong language, but I guess someone needed to.

I never thought he was anything but a vile man, and never thought he was sincere about his good image.

It takes real arrogance, for a loser to offer advice and or criticism to anyone. Carter and Ford should be put away in the old folks home, where they wont harm themselves or anyone else. They were both losers then and even more so now.

Criticizing President Bush's "axis of evil" phrase as "overly simplistic and counterproductive," . . .

I despise Carter, too. But I decided he was ABSOLUTELY CORRECT in criticizing Bush's "axis of evil" phrase when I learned that Bush had included North Korea in this group only because he didn't want to make it sound as if the U.S. were involved in an anti-Islamic crusade.

If that is the level to which U.S. foreign policy has been reduced, then we may as well have Mickey Mouse in charge of the State Department.
