How does all this fit in with "separation of church and state". This is after all, a religious belief.

I worked for several years with a man from Hong Kong. Feng Shui was one of many superstitions he explained to me. More popular than Feng Shui is numerology. For example, 8 represents prosperity and there is are cases of people in Hong Kong paying more for a license plate (tag), with the right numbers, then they paid for the Rolls Royce it went on.

Although these superstitions are widely believed, they are also considered laughable by much of the population. Accordingly, the Feng Shui practitioners are regarded as con-artists by many Chinese.

So, when you see Feng Shui touted in America as a respected oriental "design philosophy", hold on to your wallet.

Perhaps Miss Cleo has a future in the orient with her ancient Carribean philosophy which gives insight into the future.

Perhaps they should bury a statue of St. Joseph upside down in the front yard. That will guarantee the sale of their home.

Palo, I went to the old thread, and your link didn't work, so I left a note with the right html on it. I wrote "Feng Shui thread where we all went in case you were looking for us". And I put the proper link in so people can find us.

Well, I suppose I really MUST clean.
My honey phoned me just a little while ago and I feel much better since I was following the Van Dam girl thread, and getting totally upset.

It's amazing, how, just talking to him I feel so much better, more calm.
He calms me down and makes me feel better.

A friend of my husband (Chinese) has bought me 4 large tropical plants in the past year. He insists I put them at the front door. When I move the plant somewhere else, he buys me another one for the entrance way. If he keeps it up, we'll have a small rainforest before Christmas.

Yes...chi, qi, kee is the same thing. To Americans and other Star Wars fans, it's better known as the Force.

22,500-square-foot police and fire building

In the grand scheme of things, this is a relatively itty-bitty building. A single floor of a typical largish multi-story office building is this big.

And these nutcases are going ape$#!+ over it?

He is the sweetest old man. He helped me redesign my kitchen and it's amazing. No matter how many times I tell my kids he's not Okinawan, they still insist on referring to him as Mr. Myagi.

Well, ever vigilant (er make that people who are whiney sort of obsessive compulsives like myself) me,
was able to get the $2 back from the building who wanted to charge us $2 for a laundry card.
After I used my trusty Gateway computer with fax
And today I saw a huge note that we tenants are supposed to all get our money back for the laundry card
Which I think would be an illegal passthrough, because it has to go to the rent board
And since we're all paying outrageously HIGH rent here
every little bit helps
then, I phoned because I was perturbed about the fact that money for laundry machine only takes $1's and $5's
And no one has $5's and rarely $1's these days and I had put that in my fax of yesterday (people usually have $20's only because of ATM machines)
And she had phoned after receiving my fax and now they're going to have
$5's in the accounting office of the building.

So, faxing is a great tool!

I never saw Star Wars.
I'm like the only American that's never seen it.
People are amazed I've never seen it.
It's sort of making me proud of the fact that I'm
iconoclastic like that.

That's ok. I've never seen 'E.T.'. I always thought that I may have been the only person in America between 25 and 35 that's never seen it. The fact that you've never seen Star Wars makes me feel much better and less isolated. lol

What a degenerate group of feng shui pagans

But easy pickings. I sold Buddhist and Bon-Po ritual items around Marin. Told them stories about monks gliding 2 feet off the ground and traveling 80 miles in a day because they were holding a phurba (an item I just happened to have in my sales case). Most gullible people I ever met. But mention Christ to them, they flee like vampires.

Sausalito= More money than sense. I used to have a sales territory in Southern Marin. Most of the merchants were great, but the residents were another story.
