I am heartened that conservative catholics have the discernment to know Medjugorje cannot be true.

Medjugorje has not been deemed false nor true. With apparitions, the investigation starts by the Church to identify what the fruits are, meaning what has come from the appearance. That is the reason the Catholic church has not made an official statement.

Since the claims that the apparition is still appearing, a statement cannot be made yet. Once the appearance ceases, then a full assessment can then be made with regards to the fruits. Nevertheless, since the initial claims of the appearance, it has brought thousands if not millions closer to GOD through additional prayer that may not have happened otherwise. So from today's standpoint, it is doing a good job... but is it authentic? We'll have to wait until the Catholic Church deems it so...
