so what. who puts 'faith' or children in to these peoples hands? or saint-rosie O's hands?? let the primitive religions sink. let the modern religions of 'socialism' and 'green earth' also sink. now smart monkeys. we're on our own. let's figure out how...

It's a fair article except for the headline. The liberals did their thing--and they are still doing it as they continue to age--but they are not the people who are suffering the consequences. The sufferers are children who were abused, children who were not properly taught their faith and have left the Church, and ordinary Catholics who have been maltreated by these same liberals. So I don't think it's a question of anyone receiving their just deserts, unless he means that God will straighten it all out in the next world.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. --Matthew 18:6

Well this explains why all the deviants enetered the seminary BUT still doesn't explain why heterosexual apllicants were not to be found .
Sullivan is right. In the modern world where the sexes co mingle so freely in schools , the workplace , sports, social activities etc to expect a normal heterosexual male select a vocation and remain remain celibate is stupid. Let them marry. Some of the staunchest anti abortion moral religious leaders are MARRIED fundalmentalist protestant preachers

EXACTLY
It is the children of hard working parents who have sacrificed to pay the tuition to Catholic schools so their children would receive a decent education who have been utterly betrayed by these hypocrit Cardinals who should be in jail.
These people are disgusting
And the POPE sits on his hands and does nothing

If we listed all the weird stuff done by married people, it would fill a stack of CDs.
To: Antoninus
I agree. Priests don't become pedophiles. Pedophiles become priests. I also think the church should follow the lead of the Boy Scouts and not allow homosexuals to become priests.

The original Inquisition went after heretics. We need and American Inquisition to root out and defrock the perverts. If they've done anything criminal, turn them over to the secular authorities, like the original Inquisition did.

Sullivan also points out that many of the priests were seminarians in the 40s and 50s, not 60s.
It's fun to blame it on the 60s and Vatican II, but it's complete BS. It happened before all of that.
This article is a case of someone with an agenda making up facts to support it.

Perhaps because, once the homos were in control of the seminaries, they meticulously weeded out the orthodox applicants? I'll assume you're not a RC so you probably haven't heard this little wrinkle. Pious, holy men do hear God's call quite frequently. Until recently, they've run into a brick wall of feminists and homosexuals blocking the door to the seminary. It's time to push them aside ... and out.

An excellent point, actually, and one that didn't strike me. Some would argue that the liberals are getting exactly what they want - a Church whose prestige is greatly diminished and the ability to ride to the 'rescue' with their 'solutions' of more lax rules, women priests, married priests, etc. In other words, if the poison is making you sick, a larger dose will surely help you recover.

Oh? Have you been to the Vatican lately? Do you know what the Pope does on any given day?
Church needes a schism to survive
Nah, a serious crackdown would drive most of the pedophiles and homos out. Break the chain somewhere and they'll start outing each other left and right. It's about to get really ugly, I predict.

Uncbob:
Why don't you fess up to what your real problem with Catholicism is? Until you do you will look like nothing but an opportunistic Catholic-basher. Anyone who thinks that there is something about celibacy that will lead an otherwise straight man to molest boys is toting less than a full six-pack. Likewise anyone who thinks that forcing marriage on the otherwise lavender will guarantee that they will avoid the practice of that which flips the switch of a homosexual pederast.
If you are married, do you think that is all that keeps you away from ten-year-old boys? If you are not married but are attracted to what adult female paramour has to offer, whether you practice that or not, can you imagine pursuing and molesting a ten-year-old boy as a substitute?
Inquiring loyal Catholics would like to know. So would some of our solid friends and fellow soldiers of Christ in this fallen world who are of the Reformed Christian persuasion but are so joyous in their love of the Lord and in the Word of the Lord that they practice and spread their own faith on the merits and do not define themselves by bashing Catholics and Catholicism.

Amen! And Amen!!
That was one heck of a homily, and a rousing battle cry! Your moving essay should be read from every pulpit of every Catholic Church on Easter Sunday.
So many Catholics have forgotten WHO we are and WHY we are here.
Soldiers in the Army of Christ, go out and fight!

Similar topics are also detailed in the 1983 James Hitchcock book
The Pope and the Jesuits.
Recommended to understand the cultural atmosphere leading up to the present absurdities.
We've been complaing about this stuff for years.

The problem is liberal Catholicism turns around and blames it on nonliberal Catholicism.

The problem is the Church is so compromised thet there is nobody to do the cracking, or there is too much protective compromise infiltrated within the church.

The bright spot is that there are Catholics out there who haven't bought in to the story. I know it has been said many times. but "the gates of hell shall not prevail"
It shows the power of Jesus' words and the guidance of the Holy Spirit sent by God to protect His Church that the Catholic Church still stands and will forever. Jesus also told of the trials of His true Church and all you have to do is look around to see the truth of it. So pray hard and pray often because God will continue to bless the Church even in trials.
