President Bush yesterday called on the Senate to pass a bill that would grant amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens in time for his trip to Mexico tomorrow.

The Senate's top Democrat, however, said he was not planning for a vote on the border-security measure until next month.

It makes me mad that these people just cut in line in front of about 8 friends of mine who are working hard to become legal citizens.

The Mexicans in question are illegals because they have overstayed their visas. But because they have entered America legally, the president prefers to describe them as lawful inhabitants.

"I want to show our friends, the Mexicans, that we are compassionate about people who live here on a legal basis, that we don't disrupt the families for people who are here legally," Mr. Bush told reporters. "If someone is living here legally, they won't have to leave the country in order to stay with their family.

"We believe in family values," the president concluded.

Guess I am the stupid one, then.

I coulda swore he told us at his inauguration that he believed in the Constitution of the United States of America -- and in rule of Law! [And now here he is sounding like a Rotten-KKKli'ton]

[Neat one, thanks, kattracks]

These are people who come here for economic benefits who do not share, and do not desire to share the values of the American Republic. We have enough problem with the drones the public schools are producing these days, we surely don't need to import more of the same.

Why must America take in the world's poor when our republican form of govt that is responsible for our incredible wealth, is free for all of them to copy and duplicate at home?

Earth to the President: you forget you were elected President of the United States, not President of Mexico. Americans have the feeling your body was taken over by a Vicente Fox Space Pod. The truth of matter is its hard to find any one who thinks its a wonderful idea. Even die hard rank and file liberal Rats hate it as much as your average conservative. If you can find me a true American who gladly supports section 245(i) I'll give you my house, the keys to my car, and my bank account. I just don't think you will find one willing to go along Mr. President.

Finish the sentence - they have overstayed their visas and are now here ILLEGALLY. There's a reason visas are temporary, or I suppose that law can get tossed aside for political gain too. What's the definition of "is" again?

"If someone is living here legally, they won't have to leave the country in order to stay with their family

Man, it's really sad to hear Bush speak just like Clinton. Uh, George - if they're currently here legally, why would they have to leave? The answer, they wouldn't, they have to leave because they are here illegally, on expired visas. And many of these folks' families are back in Mexico, not here with them, waiting on the paychecks to be sent back. I know this for a fact. Bush is flat out spinning and lying here, a la Clinton, to try and quell the furor this has caused. We could wave aside any law and then say the person is doing nothing illegal.
