That being said, Bill Simon can win head-to-head with Gray Davis. The abortion this is failing Davis. People don't care about abortion, and I think that his harping on it is making them some feel guilty for their pro-choice position (good, old-fashioned Catholic guilt works wonders!). They may not become pro-life, but they don't want to be reminded over and over and over again that abortion on demand is legal throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy. It bothers them. I'm glad it bothers them.
The election is not going to be won or lost on abortion. The election will be won or lost on how well Bill Simon convinces the public at large that Gray Davis is a failed leader. Davis has failed on every important issue that has come down the pike. He IS a failure. If Simon can get that message out, and with it show that he is a smart, savvy, capable leader, he will win.
Go Simon!
