Davis has really stepped over the line.
I hope he regrets this comment!

California: Davis urges jail for Enron execs -- The governor terms them 'a menace to society' I guess the govenor wants company for where he himself should end up.

Davis said. "It's like finding out that the Northridge earthquake was man-made." I'm sure you'll be telling us that soon enough, dipwad.

Davis is a day late. 18 months ago would have been an appropriate time to notice such irregularities. A lot of people did notice at the time, but the stock was flying high so who cared.

He needs to crawl back under his desk.

Oh, goodie-- with Enron execs in the slammer, it'll be easier to convict "Davis the Menace."

Power corrupts; especially when politicians let the lights go out.

"Someone has to go to jail for this," Davis said, responding to news reports linking Enron trading strategies to supply bottlenecks and two days of rolling blackouts on the California grid last summer.
So I guess the envirowackos that blocked construction of new power plants deserve life sentences.....

Didn't Doofus take money from Enron? Is he going to return that money too?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Gee, these sure are odd comments coming from someone who has
recieved more ENRON campaign contributions than any single politician outside the state of Texas

Davis has really stepped over the line. I hope he regrets this comment! Based on what we all know about the power crisis and Gov. Davis pivotal role at many many points, if there is justice, he will come to regret asking for jail time for people responsible for blackouts.

The governor terms them 'a menace to society' It's more likely that they're a menace to his re-election.
Didn't Clinton jail someone in Arkansas until after an election, because of what they knew and would say?

Didn't he say only a few months back that Enron was the best of a bad lot?
If Enron profited to the tune of billions of dollars on this crisis, I don't think it would be in bankruptcy today. They might have profited by tens of millions, but that's totally insignificant in the context of the crisis. That's what I think is the true situation.
What kind of deals did Enron lose their coporate shirt on, anyway?

"As far as I'm concerned, the persons responsible are a menace to society and should be facing serious jail time, not 9 a.m. tee times," he said. Congratulations, Davis, you're apparently the first democrat to ever discover outrage. Now you know how I feel about Klintler, Frau Klintler, Albright, Reno, Babbit, Wesley Clark, Carville, Web Hubbel, Beggala, and the whole jolly crew who just spent eight of the last nine years trying to wreck my country. I hope you're not planning to put Enron execs in prison without putting all those fools into cells WITH them...
