Another great pounding by the Simon Campaign. Tomorrow, another great silence from the folks in the press

CA-WIDE PING
To: ElkGroveDan
As I live in the People's Republic of California, let me just stress to you that these commercials are on CONSTANTLY--you really can't escape them if you watch any television--if Simon doesn't start slinging some mud of his own, he's toast.

A good pounding, but this needs to be spread far and wide. Otherwise, Red Davis will win in a landslide and California will continue to be a one party state.

I would love for Simon to win, but if a press release is all his campaign can muster in response to the Davis TV onslaught, he's toast in November.

Ought to be a law against it. LOL

I see NOTHING but Davis ads.
Where the hell are ANY of the SIMON ads?
Is SIMON looking to keep the money raised for another election and just let DAVIS have his old job back unchallenged?
What the F!!!!!!!!

Pollution is exactly what Gray Davis' ads are. Anyone who wants to see what we'll get with another Davis term just needs to hop in their car and take a drive. We can't survive another 4 years.
I trust you guys know what you're doing. It's nerve-wracking sitting on the sidelines waiting and watching.

Simon for Governor Campaign Manager Rob Lapsley today released the following statement: Governor Gray Davis today released a series of ads that demonstrate exactly why he is unfit to serve a second term as Governor of California. There is a lot of difference in a written campaign statement released by a campaign manager, and a candidate making appearances and his own comments.
Obviously, the Simon folks don't plan on winning, because they aren't going all out to do so. Going all out would mean ads of his own.
Disclaimer: I will vote for Simon, fully expecting him to lose, badly.

I dunno... to me the wording comes across that Simon is highly desperate in light of Simon's own problems. Its way too attacking. No where does it say why one should vote for Simon.
The strategy of attacking the other guy without explaining why you're the better candidate is an iffy strategy at best. It's used by politicians that have little to lose and everything to gain.
Unfortunately for Simon, he has no real message and he his self is too vulnerable on too many issues.
Vicious attacks may make Simon's base say, "Yeah!" but its unlikely to win an election.

Simon only needs to throw one good knock-out punch a couple of weeks before the election. Every month Californians get double and triple increased electric bills, and remind themseleves who they aren't voting for in November. I just hope Simon can clean up the mess Davis leaves.

My count:
TOTAL PARAGRAPHS: twelve
PARAGRAPHS ABOUT HOW BAD DAVIS IS: twelve
PARAGRAPHS ABOUT HOW GREAT SIMON IS: zero
PARAGRAPHS ABOUT BAD THINGS DAVIS HAS DONE OR BEEN: twelve
PARAGRAPHS ABOUT GREAT THINGS SIMON HAS DONE OR BEEN: zero
PARAGRAPHS PROVIDING REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR DAVIS: twelve
PARAGRAPHS PROVIDING REASONS TO VOTE FOR SIMON: zero
I've mentioned this before. Isn't it time to change this approach? It doesn't seem to be working.

Davis and his campaign make patently false statements about his failed record, and use doublespeak, scare tactics and outright lies to cover his deplorable record on the environment, education and the economy. Ah, yes... Such is the way of contemporary democrats.
Lies?
Deceptions?
NEVER!!!
And if you believe that, than you're either stupid, or a democrat...
Be well...
