The 90% figure isn't right, but Eisenhower did pull about 35% of the black vote in northern cities (in the south they were largely disenfranchised), and that worried the Dems sick. One result was the Civil Rights Act of 1957, which was gutted by the time of passage, but bought some time for the Dems. I learned all of this reading Robert Caro's book on LBJ's senate years. Take care.

Funny that many of us who live in California agree with RLK. I guess we don't see the situation as clearly as someone like you, living in Virginia.

Your fears have been expressed before, and each time they have been proven wrong. I see no reason to heed them now.

I doubt that you see anything.

Funny how all this happens without amnesty having to be extended.Shhhhh....don't let anybody else know that. It's a secret.

WELL said. The fear from the Buchanan-Tancredo crowd has been expressed before, and each time it was proven wrong. It was proven wrong with Irish, Italian, and various eastern European immigration waves. I'm surprised the anti-immigration crowd has any credibility left. The anti-immigration crowd?? How about anti-invade America? You do understand the difference between legal and illegal correct?
Those of you who have turned your backs on this problem have been seriously wrong. Terrorism has made its way into the country, illegal drug smuggling and all the damage that it causes in increased crime and overdoses and death has gone on and on, the welfare system has been bogged down. I'm sure I could go on but people like you obviously dont listen.
Bush shouldnt have to get votes by telling people that it is ok to disregard the law and raid America.

I guess it's been ridiculed and absent for so long that you have forgotten or never had acquaintance with it.

At Bush's level of competence it's the only hope he has.

This is in response to your earlier post where you stated Vicente Fox was the largest vote getter. This is from a FOX news article on the same subject.
According to the survey, almost 75 percent of respondents said they could not identify a single leader they admired. Of those who did mention a name, 3.7 percent chose Mexican President Vicente Fox. "This new political block in the U.S. is searching for a leader," said
Do you think 3.7% is a big number?
Would you rather the RATS have good polling numbers with this group of people?

-------------------------------
Judging from the poor turnout in recent elections by Americans who feel deserted by both parties, in the near future five Mexicans, two gays, and three lesbians will be left in control of the entire political process in this country with the major parties not bothering to appeal to anyone else.

I've lived among Mexicans and currently live among Arabs. Believe me, the former is much more preferable to the latter.I was raised in New Mexico and I count many mexican friends as some of my best. One friend I grew up with graces the Wall in DC, and I make no distinction that his last name was Serrano. He and his four brothers are Americans through and through, and friends to boot.

Sorry, pal, but your limited emotional experience doesn't change my perception of what is happening.

Lets see, why should Hispanic-Americans vote for Republicans?
Most Hispanic Americans have a strong work ethic, most Hispanic Americans believe in traditional family values, most Hispanic Americans believe in God, and a lot of Hispanic Americans, male and female, still believe a man should be a man and a woman should be a woman.
A lot of good reasons for them to forsake the DemocRATs - the party of the National Atheist Church of America, the party that approves of and condones intermarital infidelities and child murder, the party that seeks to emasculate men and masculinize women, and the party that believes in free handouts from those willing to work to those who are too lazy to do so.

I love it when W speaks Spanish.
When will we hear our Prez. speak Arabic? Or Chinese? C'mon, it's so... sensitive, so cosmopolitan, so... chique...
To: hchutch
So what country did you come from?

Hard for some to see however, which makes me wonder if they've ever really been around that atmoshere, even in a limited emotional way.
