This question was actually addressed at the press conference. Simon said that this was because his father was in the Nixon administration, so it was a coming home of sorts for him.

He likes this location; he's going to have a major press conference on Monday September 30th there as well.

I think it's okay to post it here, the thread is small and your experience will fit right in. However, if your writing is really really good, we'll browbeat you to repost it on its own thread.
